Lifetime offers $200 to Dump Dish

As more time goes by people are going to miss lifetime less and less and eventually you're going to end up with a situation like OLN where there was outrage that went down to a small roar whenever Hockey or OLN is mentioned. I also contend that if Charlie wanted to be spiteful he'd add Oxygen...

Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network off Dish due to contract dispute

It seems to me that if Lifetime wants the channel to be added for free Charlie should add it, on the 61.5 slot. Then if people really want it they can pay Charlie for another dish.

Does anyone know E* VOD Plains

I think they don't realize how much money they stand to make off of WWE 24/7 I mean no major market has it yet so if they were the first to do it they would get droves of wrestling fans fed up with waiting.

    upgrade to at180

I found it. http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/programming/promotion/15rebate/index.shtml I saw an ad for it the otherday and it was in this months newsletter. Infact I had upgraded to 180 the day before and I qualify for the rebate so that made me happy :) Also if you do it online you get...

Tech Chat - What do YOU want to see?

What happened to WWE 24/7? I mean the 625 has launched now and it has the 'on-demand' abilties, what better way to show it off. Plus Comcast & Time Warner have yet to launch 24/7 so you would be beating cable to the punch effectively. (Yes I realize 625 can't do real on-demand hence the...

If you are currently experiencing problems with the 110 satellites...

Here I am tearing my hair out and running a switch test (go me now my 625 doesn't have locals listed at all) and resetting to factory defaults, doing a reset on the receivers and it's not on my end! ARG! Oh and Cincinnati, OH locals are still down!

    Any free previews coming up?

They're trying to do that with the 625's with movies on demand but they're charging too much ($2.99) for movies that are too old (Mallrats, The Breakfast Club, Jurassic Park & Jaws) I think they would be better served if they instead did on-demand content for free and depended less on the movies...

Does Dish DVR Allow Transfer to PC?

Or you could buy a Video capture card for your computer and just hook it up to your PC and record it, plus it would make it dead easy to remove commericials or hack in things :)

    DirecTV in Mexico

And sometimes reading between the lines makes you completely and utterly wrong.

    DirecTV in Mexico

Yet in his post he clearly states that he pays his bill and says nowhere that his father has a reciever.
  11. D

    DirecTV in Mexico

No he's not sharing the account, he just has the bill sent to his father's house. Now if his father had the account and he was a reciever on that, THAT would be account sharing.

    Active Delayed Again

So it was supposed to launch in Feburary but then no no next month. So we're in March we wait until near the end of March, no no next month! So now we're waiting for April. Am I the only one who is thinking at the end of April we'll be hearing no no next month?

    D10 Software Upgrade???

The update will come when they launch DirecTV Active which was supposed to be sometime this month.
  14. D

    Directv Active

On the existing D10's they'll be activating it with a software update, the first the D10's will have gotten. I know that's different from a firmware update but I felt it should be mentioned it :)

    D10--Why did I buy this???

Why was this moved to the DVR Forum when the OP is talking about the D10 which is a standard receiver? Unless I've totally been using mine wrong ;)

Decided on DirecTV, now what ?

I didn't get HD but I ordered directly from DirecTV.com and was very happy with the installer and the install. Only cost ~$16 w/shipping and tax.

Why Do I See So Much Hate For Dish?

I doubt that considering all the programs I like are not already in HD and if they ever are in HD they'll be upconverted. Also I doubt HD can do much for cartoons (yes I watch cartoons!). I imagine if I watched the broadcast networks and sports I would care about things in HD but again I don't...

    A look at DirecTV ACTIVE

If they're not going to be adding any new nonHD channels then I'll take the mix channels and interactive stuff.

Why Do I See So Much Hate For Dish?

Most of the hate I see is people whining about HD stuff. I don't have an HDTV and I doubt I'll be buying one in the next 5 years. At times it seems like they (the HDTV owners) think that they represent the majority of users when infact the HD users are in the minority and they probably will be...

I got my system straight from DirecTV and everything went well only had to pay $15 shipping + tax.

    Mix Channel suggestions!

I think it's a snap to change around audio feeds and I have a D10.

    Mix Channel suggestions!

I like the News Mix channel the only problem I can see is that people might end up watching the mix channel and changing the audio around rather than going to CNN/Fox/MSNBC. Since then you won't 'miss' anything.

D* Plans Its Own DVR For '05

So in essence they're hinting they'll have a DVR that's less than $99 and can do on-demand? Sign me up! Although I'm curious to see what they would offer, I could see them offering some Fox programming since they already told Comcast no (well rather they told comcast they wanted them to charge...

Congress likely to pass HD distant locals today!

But isn't there language for Significantly Viewed stations in a neighboring market? So in theory couldn't DirecTV offer the UPN or WB affiliate one market over? Also wouldn't this allow DirecTV to provide neighboring locals like Cable does? (At least that's what I think and BFG agreed)
