I usually put my meter on port 3. that is the one for 61.5 and is the lowest satellite in the horizon that the 1000.4 sees. (looking from behind the dish, the last satellite you can see to the left). its also a weaker satellite and I think you should try peek on it.

You could install a dpp 4 x 4 multi-switch! this switch can drive up to 4 dual tuner receivers. No additional coax runs would be required. the switch is a little expensive buying it new ( dealer cost about $165.00 ) ,but i think you can get them on E-bay for under 100 bucks.

Yes, using a dish 500 with a DPP+ ( dish pro Plus) LNB and a dedicated dish 500 W/ dish pro single and a LNB adaptor should fix your problem. Hope they will do that for free!

installing 2 lnbs on the dish might be a fun project. if you can get the spacing correct to see the 2 satellites, or even 3 satellites 110-119,129., use a dp3x4 switch and never have rain fade again :-)
