    Underwhelmed with TWC HD choices

I recently got an HDTV. The prices went down quite a bit and I picked up a Vizio 42" plasma 720p at Costco for $700. If money were no issue, I would have gone for the Sony Bravia (it looked very sharp IMO). In any case, I was already a TWC subscriber. After a DirecTV install failed (I didn't...

How to get an additional $240 off as a new DirecTV customer

I was unable to get the installation due to some problems. However, this is what I had negotiated: $240 off for being a AAA member ($10 off per month for 24 months). Premier Package with NFL sunday ticket ($75 per month for 4 months, then it's regular premier package costs). They waived the...

    DirecTV and cable internet access?

That's certainly a possibility. Although I get cable right now, a previous tenant had DirecTV. The dish is still there as well as their coax cables connected. With any luck, the same set up can be used (just hopefully with a newer dish).

    DirecTV and cable internet access?

Yeah, but I don't want to make holes on the walls. It's not my house. I meant using the existing wiring/cables. I don't know if once you have a source (cable or satellite), it takes over the entire connection at home.

    DirecTV and cable internet access?

I would like to keep my internet access via cable. And I'd like to get DirecTV. Is it possible for one room to get DirecTV from the wall and internet cable in another room? Thanks for the help.

    DOES TIVO WORK WITH TW?

Yes, Tivo works with TWC. I have a series 2, 80-hour tivo. I've never tried TWC's DVRs to make a direct comparison. I'm not sure if lifetime service really saves you $$ in the long run. For that to happen, you'd have to stick with cable for a long time. Additionally, you'd have to hope...

DIRECTV and TiVo to Launch New HD DIRECTV DVR with TiVo Service

I have a standard definition 80-hour Tivo DVR. The only reason I got it (and switched to cable) is because I wanted to make it easy on myself to transfer recorded TV shows from the DVR to my PC. A nice plus is that I can schedule recordings online. Other than that, I'm not as passionate as...

Time Warner to add 50 HD channels on April 30, plans to offer 100 by end of the year.

It looks like Time Warner will have the technical capability of having 100 HD channels. however, that doesn't mean that they will provide that many channels. Here's an interview about it: Time Warner: We, Too, Can Offer 100 HDTV Channels

Video - Echostar Tr50 Atsc Dvr

Underwhelmed I'm scratching my head wondering what the buzz about the TR-50 is. The CNET article says it all: "EchoStar TR-50: An HD DVR for those without cable or satellite". OK, a large number of people do not subscribe to cable or satellite. Are these the same people who buy HDTVs to...

D*RM is here for all to feast on

DRM is here to stay Wow, 24 hours is a really short time. At least they should match what the rental companies (Blockbuster) do for new rentals (2-3 days). A week would be better. I think their concern is that if you have the PPV for a long time in your DVR, you'll have more time to archive...

Welcome New Members! (Please Say HI here!)

Hi Hello everyone. Joined just a few days ago. I used to be a Dish Network customer. However, I had to move overseas. When I go back to the U.S. I'll be looking to get a HDTV. With that, I'll have to take a look at which provider has the best HD selection (which at the moment appears to be...
