Are Internet movies downloaded or streamed?

I have 54mbps through Time Warner. I would think that would be adequate download speeds for VOD. I wish I knew why my downloads always look soft with obvious compression issues. For what it's worth, I'm using a Hopper with Sling connected to my A/V receiver then to my TV. It's certainly not the...

Yes, the video card is doing crunching but the work unit was at 99% and stayed there for about 30 minutes. And then dropped down to 88%. I am confused, hehe.

My GPU has been stuck at 99.99%. I assume this will eventually go to 100% complete right? Edit: It's now back down to 88%. Strange.

Are Internet movies downloaded or streamed?

I assume you are talking about VOD? They are downloaded. Let's say you try to play an on demand movie you had watched earlier. It will start automatically without downloading again. The reason the file doesn't take up as much space is because the quality is poorer than the quality on a...

How Long Have you Had HD?

I bought an HDTV and PS3 in late 2006 and enjoyed HD so much, I've continually upgraded my equipment since then. In 2008, I went with Dish Network because I was so frustrated that my local cable company's feed would frequently pause, continue, and pause again during live viewings. It was...

    A.D.: The Bible Continues

I enjoyed this as well, although there was too much 'network drama.' I'm not a big fan of drama TV shows. I did like the ending of ep.1 though.

    What is your current phone?

iPhone 6 128GB. I don't ever plan to upgrade this phone lol. I'm tired of the phone trade in merry go round and figured 128GB of space will last me quite a while. I also wanted to get ready for the influx of high resolution audio incoming very soon.

    Longhorn Game not in HD

Add me as another who was greatly disappointed that the game was not playing on the HD channel. The only reason I bumped up my service was so I could watch the games, in HD if possible. No point in advertising the channel in HD if you have no plans in using it.

Hauppauge HD PVR 2 on the hopper

I use one of these with component out from the HWS. Works like a charm. I have HDMI going out to the A/V receiver at the same time. Edit: Hmm, I just realized you are using an upgraded Hauppauge. My apologies. :)

AMC - ‘Halt And Catch Fire’

I managed to set the DVR when this premiered and have been watching it. I'm a total nerd for things tech so I find a drama wrapped around that subject to be pretty interesting. Anyone else still watching?

    hopper update time

I realize this is an old thread, but this bothers me to no end. I am hoping Dish realizes that people watch TV at all hours and would like to be able to download updates at their convenience. Dish, please make this happen! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Will Dish offer promo's to existing customers?

Not to hijack his thread or anything, but will Dish offer new DVRs for signing a new 2 year agreement or is that strictly to new customers? Are there any discounts for getting a new DVR?

    Order Pizza from your PS3

It's not that hard to take an order. I've ordered many pizzas in my lifetime and never had I had to hang up because the person taking the order was an idiot.
