    I edit with VideoReDO and encode with Handbrake. Unless the recorded stream is always perfect you could end up with audio/video out of sync. VideoRedo will take care of that. Are there any free/open source programs that edits less-than-perfect recordings as good as Vidoredo?

    imo good instructions on how to use a site like www.dishpointer.com would be cheaper/easier than a compass. zoom in/out of your house and sight using local streets & landmarks. Those little compasses aren't very accurate or precise and anything better might be too costly

    how about remote control via hdmi-cec? it's already on openelec and raspbmc. Or am I wrong assuming it's on most tvs? alternatively you could use an IR LED,LIRC and any old remote
