After the digital change, I started looking for something else. Found Sat-Guys, an 11' BUD, 2 DTN's, 2 P*'s, a couple of receivers on Craigslist. Now all I need is for all this snow to leave so I can get serious about setting this stuff up.

    Question on Sun Outage Calculator

It's that time of year in Ohio. I want to use the outage cal to determine different locations for on my property for dishes. I'm confused on the starting and stopping times. I set the calculator for my Long and Lat and the birds I want to see. It gives me the GMT start and end, the duration, but...

    DTN/Channel Master/Primestar Question

I got my DTN dishes set out during the break in the snow. Both are stationary and stock DTN lnb's. From what I've read from you guy's, and the set up directions for the dish show the lnb setup at vertical. On 97W I'm showing both v and h channels on my Traxis 3500. It looks like my P* lnb is...

    Another Primestar Saved

On the topic of Primestars, I finally got a chance to start playing with the dishes I've gathered up over the last couple of years. I set up a DTN first and have found and watched some channels. I then tried my P*** and no go. I moved it around and nothing. Is there any way to check to see if...

Special: SatHawk PVR800 WorldDVB DVB-S2 HD FTA Receiver

I made a quick trip to Columbus today to pick up some odds and ends at Sadouns. I'm trying to get set up with this second hand equipment I've gathered up around home and on Craigslist, Coolsat 6000, DTN and Primestar dishes. I walked in the door, and there was Jamal setting up this new...

I found one of these Primestars a while ago and do not have it set up yet. Should I get a different LNB for it or will the stock one work for FTA?

    Adventures in Dish Hunting 2009

Hi all, I finally got a chance to finalize the deal on that Viewmor, 11 footer. Found out they were made in Nebraska by a company that made grain bins. The dish is aluminum mesh. It has a Chaparral Polarotor feedhorn. With it came a Luxor 9550 receiver, which I'm assuming is analog, so...

    Adventures in Dish Hunting 2009

Hey All I did find out that Channel Master made that 7' parabolic UHF antenna. They quit making they in 2001. I hope to find one, the gain on them is fantastic. I got some pictures of that Viewmore I'm looking to get. There is no concrete! The bolts you see in the pictures have augers on...

    Adventures in Dish Hunting 2009

I know what you're saying AC. I've been watching this dish for 6 months and it hasn't moved. It's on the flat land in Ohio with no woods for a mile to the west. So, I'm going to give it a try.

    Adventures in Dish Hunting 2009

Has anyone heard of a Viewmor dish. It's an 11 footer and in good shape. The thing I like about it is, the base has long bolts to drive into the ground and a leveling plate so no concrete. The guy says it won't move after it's set. Don't know anything else about it yet.
