Which receiver do I need for my equipment? Pics inside.

Well, I'm not hooking up the HR24 yet anyway, but I can hook them both to the same router via ethernet or use the DECA broadband adapter. Either is the easily done for how they will be placed.

Which receiver do I need for my equipment? Pics inside.

Thanks all. So I could get an HR24 for the second TV, and share the DVR with both the other TV connected to the H25 via the coax network?? My understanding is that I don't need the DECA broadband adapter at all for this setup. Is that correct?

Which receiver do I need for my equipment? Pics inside.

So I've bought an "owned" H25 receiver, power inserter, 2 way SWM splitter (just incase needed), and terminal covers. I already have a DECA broadband adapter that was left by the previous owners, and available internet connection if that is needed for anything. I'm not looking to share this...

Which receiver do I need for my equipment? Pics inside.

Thanks John. I am also able to do more research now that I know the name of the Power Inserter.

Which receiver do I need for my equipment? Pics inside.

Sorry if this has been covered a million times. I just moved into a new house and the previous owner left an old slimline dish with the LNB pictured below. I want to use this dish to install a receiver, possibly a DVR, to power 2 more TVs in a detached garage. This next pic is how my...

    Vip 612 HD Solo/Dish 500 installation

I haven't touched anything, and it was working when I turned the TV on yesterday!!. It wouldn't find any satellites after being left on for a few hours on Thursday (according to the main screen where it said searching for 0 of 5 satellites.) I don't know what happened but I can't complain...

    Vip 612 HD Solo/Dish 500 installation

Thanks for the reply Jerry and Krell. I am not using the switch as it currently hooked up, just direct coax. So regardless of my non-legacy LNB the 612 should be compatible, right? I don't really need HD, this is just an extra hookup at my shop. This was previously hooked up to a Pansat (sp?)...

    Vip 612 HD Solo/Dish 500 installation

Well, I ran the 119 to input 1 and 110 to input 2 with individual coax cables (no switch.) The receiver sees satellites (it won't say which ones) on both inputs, but check switch shows nothing. What do I need to do? I am certain the dish is pointed correctly.

    Vip 612 HD Solo/Dish 500 installation

Can you just run 2 coaxial cables from the dish to the 2 sat inputs on the receiver and not use a switch? I have a legacy switch and a non legacy dish. Also, what is(are) the purpose of the switch(es)? Are the just to combine 2 cables into one, then split them back in 2 once inside the house...

TV2 display same as TV1 in dual mode.

Thanks everyone. I changed the TV2 channel on the modulator setup and it fixed it.

TV2 display same as TV1 in dual mode.

I think I understand. Your saying that TV1 and TV2 signals are both sent out of that coax (even though I watch tv1 on HDMI) and, according to which channel the TV is, it will pick up either the TV1 signal or the TV2 signal. Thanks, I think I got it! (But how did the channel change??and...

TV2 display same as TV1 in dual mode.

Not sure I understand, but I will try the system info screen when I get home. Any menu I bring up on tv1 is also displayed on tv2. When you say channel, do you mean the tv (air) input channel? (i.e. channel 63 or whatever)? (Single mode and shared view perform fine.) Thanks.

TV2 display same as TV1 in dual mode.

I have a DVR HD receiver (not sure of model number) that suddenly started sending the TV1 signal to TV2 even in dual mode. TV1 remote will operate both TVs, but the TV2 remote will not. If I switch to single mode shared view, it responds accordingly, allowing either remote to control both TV1...
