    Cancelling Dish Question

You can always put dish on "pause" for $5/month. That will allow you to try out other services(recast dvr, youtubetv, etc...) and see if you like them or not. If you decide to go back to dish all you have to do is call and restart your service without commitment.

Hopper 3 low volume for satellite but good volume for YouTube App

Software version U543 eliminated the Dynamic Range setting. Prior to that you had an option of wide or narrow under the audio settings. Setting it to narrow would make the voices louder without having to turn the volume up so high.

    Hopper 3 U543 released

For some reason the Dynamic Range setting has been eliminated, causing the lower output. We had a choice of "narrow" or "wide" which dramtically affected the volume. With it set to "narrow", the voices would be louder and more prominent. The "wide" setting caused the voices to get a bit lost in...

    4K Events Discussion Thread

I see this as well. I also notice the color palette isn't as vibrant either.

    Upgrade question

If you're going to upgrade, get a hopper 3. The Hopper with sling isn't worth it unless you like waiting for things to load.

Poor picture quality with Wally + 4K HDR TV

Do you have another 4k tv (your's or a friends) of similar size you can connect to the Wally and test for issues with resolution? That might help determine if it's a wally problem or a tv problem.

Least expensive way to get HD on tv2 without starting a new agreement?

Yesterday I wrote an email to Dish(executive customer service dept) and explained my situation to them. Today they called and wanted to discuss the issues I was experiencing. After a friendly conversation they insisted that I exchange the HWS for a Hopper 3. :bigok And, as a bonus, no upfront...

Least expensive way to get HD on tv2 without starting a new agreement?

We had a 1000.4 dish and the installer said they were swapping them out for 1000.2's whenever they could.

Least expensive way to get HD on tv2 without starting a new agreement?

The installer put up a new Dish. So I figured he replaced it with a hybrid for the HWS. How can I check?

Least expensive way to get HD on tv2 without starting a new agreement?

Understood. I was thinking of dumping the hopper 2 and going back to the 722K/211K...but I wasn't sure if I can use them on a hybrid lnb. I found one example here that worked with a 722K. Would I be able to use two VIP receivers on a hybrid lnb?

Least expensive way to get HD on tv2 without starting a new agreement?

Well I upgraded, sort of. Since I was a "preferred customer" the sales(?) dept said I qualified for a free upgrade to a hopper w/sling and a joey. So I went against my better judgement and took the offer. Was promised that they would waive the 2 year commitment(i asked several times) and of...

any chance for a new dual tuner ota dongle?

Okay got it. The wally's not being able to see each other isn't a problem. TV2 is used by a family member who watches their own programming and hardly ever uses the dvr.

any chance for a new dual tuner ota dongle?

Yes I do have a tuner on each tv. I can run separate lines to each tv and will probably end up doing that. :thumbup

any chance for a new dual tuner ota dongle?

I was afraid of that. Thanks for confirming. I guess if I had two wally's I could put an adapter on each and that would solve my problem.

any chance for a new dual tuner ota dongle?

Okay thanks. I sort of understand that. I had a 722k with an mt2 module and the ota channels showed up in the guide on tv2. What about his scenario. If I dropped the locals from dish to save $12 and installed a dual usb ota adapter. Let's say I'm recording two ota channels on TV1(hopper). I...

any chance for a new dual tuner ota dongle?

Help me understand this...I have a hopper/sling with 1 joey. This dual ota adapter only connects to the hopper and not the joey? My plan was to get two separate dual ota tuners in each room but I don't think I can do that with this setup. I would probably need two hoppers or two wallys. Yeah...

Least expensive way to get HD on tv2 without starting a new agreement?

Interesting. Does it work properly or is it prone to errors/freezing/slow load times?

Least expensive way to get HD on tv2 without starting a new agreement?

Yes I did check on that. A wally or 211 for a 2nd room is an additional $7/month. Installing a 2nd 722 would be $17/month.

Least expensive way to get HD on tv2 without starting a new agreement?

Would I get all live channels or on demand/recorded only? (Top 120 Programming)

Least expensive way to get HD on tv2 without starting a new agreement?

I assume it's built in? No ota module necessary? If I bought a Wally it looks like I would have to buy a separate ota adapter.
