    Part Time HD

Thanks for the info! How about some of the college sports networks like SEC Network, Longhorn Network, Pac 12 that sorta thing?

    Part Time HD

Are several RSNs and sports networks still part time HD on Dish? If so, which ones are part time and which ones are full time? I've looked around trying to find a good list, but it's hard to find anything solid. Thanks in advance!

    Terre Haute "locals"

Recently, they've begun importing nearby CW HD in markets where no CW affiliate exists. Albany GA via Jacksonville FL, Biloxi MS via New Orleans are two recent examples.

Sports Pack question: LSU-McNeese State game in southwest La.

The issue with this game was this: FS Southwest and FS Houston only carry the SEC on FSN games in SEC territory (on an alternate feed). Outside of SEC territory, they carry a different game. Since those channels are based outside of Louisiana and Arkansas, the usual FS Southwest and FS Houston...

    Local HD Channels

It looks like you're in the Rapid City TV market. Dish Network only carries SD local channels in your area.

Good point. I glossed over that one. Interesting.

    Regional PBS Channels

I'm sure it's no coincidence that those are all states with a statewide network of PBS stations that simulcast the same broadcast. It seems unlikely that they would make them available to customers in other states, but it's odd that they have them up there for $2 as if they are going to charge...

    gospel music channel

I think you misread an old press release. GMC launched an HD simulcast on November 27th last year. While the press release is a little confusing because it mentions DirecTV, it does not indicate the HD feed will launch on DirecTV.

    Denver HD??

Make sure you are looking at the spotbeam transponders and not the CONUS ones. 99B or 99S (not 99A or 99C) 103A or 103S (not 103B,103CA,or 103CB)

    Locals in Monroe, Louisiana DMA

I suspect it may have something to do with carriage of the CW on KNOE-2. DirecTV has that channel up in test along with KNOE and KACY. Just a hunch.

    Denver HD??

The data should be correct as of a week ago today. The new sat is at 103, and that's where all of the re-arranging took place. If you aren't seeing anything on 99 (make sure you're looking at 99B or 99S and not 99A or 99C), then you should see something on the 103A or 103S transponders.

    Denver HD??

I'm sure it was more cost-effective. The only HD local network channels using national bandwidth are ABC/CBS/Fox/NBC from New York and Los Angeles, and that's because those are used for DNS. By the way, despite the fact that two different sats are being used to cover the Denver market, there...

    Denver HD??

To cover more of the market, Denver HD locals are actually available from two separate satellites. You can receive them from either... 99 transponders 15 and 22 or 103 transponders 15 and 23

    Directv droping local ABC station

This is true. The only exception I can think of is PBS in North Carolina, where both the primary HD feed and the UNC-EX subchannel is carried in the HD markets.

Thanks for posting them! I'm amused by the "College Football on Dish Network" slide. TBS hasn't broadcast college football games since 2006. CBS only carries 2 game maybe two weeks out of the season. Usually its just the one 3:30 ET afternoon game. The ESPN/ABC weekly count is even a stretch...

    Directv droping local ABC station

It actually has to do with the company that owns the station, and not the network the station belongs to (the exception would be stations owned and operated by the networks, which are usually in larger markets). In this case, the contract is between DirecTV and News-Press & Gazette, who owns...

    Directv droping local ABC station

That is untrue. DirecTV carries several subchannels, mainly CW and MyNetworkTV affiliates.

MLB Packages on Directv available in Hawaii

Hi Dennis, When he referred to KHON2, he was probably referring to the KHON digital subchannel 2-2, which is a CW affiliate. Dish Network apparently offers this channel as well, although the lookup tool is being a little strange and indicates it is on channel 0 (but it should also be on channel...

SEC FOOTBALL ON PEACHTREE TV THIS FALL

WPCH (Peachtree TV) will be the local SEC Network affiliate for the Atlanta TV market. If you live in a different market, those games could be on a local channel (depending on where you live). They'll also be carried on various RSNs.

    DIRECTV Announces New HD!

Actually DirecTV LA is not the same thing as the Spanish-language packages for United States subscribers. It is a different service with completely different channel packages for countries in Central and South America. There are far fewer HD channels offered to those counties than there are...
