If I had it, I would ignore their calls and simply wait until the price of it went up, or it went dark. Never agree to anything, don't even take the call. You do that, you're instantly screwed. You play right into their hands by attempting to change packages before it goes dark.

honestly jumping ship over 4 channels that will probably return in a couple weeks seems a bit pre-mature. If I jump ship to anywhere after my contract is up, it will be to a big dish and 4DTV for the greatly improved bitrates in the channels.

well, they won't let me add platinum to the american HD packages, which means if I downgrade, it will be to american HD only @29.99 instead of with platinum @ 39.99. Maybe if I tried to add the platinum online after the fact it would work, since it lets a person choose it on the order screen.

I use noaa.gov for the forecast and warning info and wunderground.com for the radar now. We can access both from work at our computers too so no need for the weather channel. In fact, it was my accessing it on the computer we used to have for net access there that made them start using it...
