    1-800-333-DISH (3474). Talk to tech. support. If you are leasing the receiver DISH actually owns the receiver and should take care of you. If you are worried about the service call fees ask about the protection plan.

    You might try cancelling then requesting a "LOYALTY REP." DIRT of today is not the DIRT you remember they are almost useless.

    What are you expecting it to do? The Hopper 3 is fancier/capable of more things but both will tune the same channels from the same satellites.

    External Hard Drive from old account can't be used

    DISH has not changed their POLICY old hard drives must be on the same account number. You can still use the old hard drives but you must reformat and use them for new recordings. IS THE GRASS ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FENCE?

    The Wally does not have the ability to support a JOEY. I don't think the Winegatrd dish can support 3 receivers.

    Does Dish Network have any OTA dongles for the Hopper 3 that have MORE than two tuners? What's the max amount of tuners I can get for OTA?

    Dish hasn't been able to get the 2 tuner dongle to work correctly, why would you want to open that can of worms? If you really need more than 2 tuners I believe there are non dish products offering up to 8 tuners definitely 4 tuners.

    YES get a good OTA antenna. I get about 72 channels off the antenna, no I don't watch all of them but with a DVR I have plenty to watch.

    Your question suggests after 2 years as a customer you have little knowledge about your Dish system. Call Dish 800-333-3474 and setup a service call. Ask about the protection plan.

    It has never been true with Dish even the first dish 500 could select from 110 or 119. The worst case is possibly the international channels, signals come off 110/118.7/119 and 129. Four different satellites and all are available from built in switching.

    What software are you expecting on the HOPPER DUO? it might be a modified VIP 722K but it has software to operate like a HOPPER and has similar problems. LOOK FOR A USED 211K RECEIVER if you want a basic receiver NOT A 211Z THAT YOU ALREADY POSTED FROM AMAZON.

    If you don't have a Hopper 1,2 or 3 then the only thing you can have is a WALLY. Now what dish do you have 1000.2 east or Western Arc? Self install or professionally installed? How old is this install?

    Have you read the problems with the Hoppers? DISH isn't problem free but they have more history with DVRs.
