Anyone ever experience a 211k freezing (picture and sound) only when the EHD is connected? I have a 2GB WD EHD connected and I can't seem to watch TV for more than an hour before it freezes. I can disconnect it, but I really would prefer to have pause, rewind and record features. I ran a reset...

Thanks, was afraid the portable drives would overheat, as they need to always be on with a 211k. Had heard that some portable ones also were no good, due to sleep mode triggering after a certain amount of time. Will try the 2tb passport. Thanks!

So my 10 yr old 1TB EHD just died. I had a WD MyBook which was about the size of a brick. Seems anything 2TB or less from WD is now considered "portable" and is the size of an iphone. Not sure if these "portable" ones will work well with a 211k. I believe the EHD cannot fall into sleep mode, and...

So did you have to buy a product? Keep a minimum package? Sign a contract? Or did they just say thanks for being a 55+ customer, here's a free movie per month... ?

So I need to buy some sort of security package to be part of the seniors program ? I'll pass... I thought this was equivalent to a senior discount (free ppv), not a mechanism to sell me a new product.

How does one qualify for free movies each month if they are a senior? Is there a minimum package you need to have or would Flex qualify? Do I just hit up an online CSR?

The channel list seems to be correct. Too bad no MTV or MTV Live. You can request your card before switching.

Just swapped my smart cards and flipped to Flex. I can confirm 34.99. I could not get an autopay credit.

Interesting, I will not flip right away. He has confirmed that a G4 card is required as well.

Online with a CSR now and they insist that the FLEX pack is $39.99 not $34.99. No autopay credit either

Ughh... this can get ugly for folks who had a broker or who have "moved" and are getting paperless billing. Will be difficult to get their hands on a card. I don't suppose you can buy these on Ebay anymore and activate them? Sigh... I knew Flex was too good to be true.

And how would I be able to identify a G4 card, were they supplied with the 211k models in 2010?

Can someone elaborate on the Smart Card requirement? I have a 211k purchased in summer of 2010. Will I require a new Smart card to get Flex pack? What do I need to look for on the Smart Card to ensure I have what I need to switch? Thanks
