GEOSATpro microHD - Endless Boot issue yuck!

I used the latest software. I did do a factory reset but may not have disconnected the power afterwards. Here is what happened: I loaded four satelites on each leg of my diseqc switch. I decided to change my port 2 from 87W to 97W. I then added 97W to port 2 in the program by use of the...

GEOSATpro New MicroHD not responding to the remote

This morning I had slow flash on the power button of the remote again for the first few tries. It then went to quick flash and turned the unit "on". I am now suspecting the remote is somehow jamming and not getting the correct signal out to correctly communicate with the unit. Agree with your...

GEOSATpro New MicroHD not responding to the remote

I already opened the cover and everything looked fine under the hood. Hmmm not a bad idea I thought...so I tried it. No change at first. Then all of a sudden, the slow flash on the remote's power button suddenly switch to quick flashes. Holy Chit its working! I then put the cover back on and...

GEOSATpro New MicroHD not responding to the remote

Angel Electronics in Ontario. I thought I would go with someone on the same side of the border as me to eliminate the currency and customs risks. I am already in contact with them.

GEOSATpro New MicroHD not responding to the remote

No affect whatsoever. Only the power light on the remote flashes. Nothing flashes or moves on the unit. I moved the unit to another room and tried without a TV and then brought a small TV in and used its hdmi. Previously I tried with both the HDMI and the AV input on the large TV. If the...

GEOSATpro New MicroHD not responding to the remote

Thanks for the quick response. Never worked. New batteries. Reboot several times. I put the blackberry on camera mode and I could see the light signal coming from the remote. The unit boots up to a start menu displayed at 480i. Is that the original firmware or is that an update?

GEOSATpro New MicroHD not responding to the remote

I received my microHD today and I have the same problem right out of the box. :(

Have some pics of the new dish called Fridea.

I may be wrong but that looks like a 1.2 meter dish but your lnb is more suited for a 1 meter dish. If you can find one of those older lnbs with the more defined feedhorn, I suspect you will get more signal out of that dish.

A new DVB-S2 receiver similar in concept to a HDHomeRun?

I am not a Linux person....yet. But recompiling makes sense. I will have to learn Linux for the new server so I might as well tweek the MOI once I have a grip on recompiling the TVheadend.

Free source of Belden CATV RG6 coax cable.

I have Gigabyte everything. However since I flashed my switch, it has now become the bottleneck at 57Mbps. The new firmware slowed it down.

Free source of Belden CATV RG6 coax cable.

I believe customers are complaining that they can not achieve the internet download speeds that Roger's is claiming to sell to them. They had to upgrade the cable at my place as I was only getting a 40 Mb download speed but was paying for 100 Mb. After the upgrade, I am at 57Mbps.

A new DVB-S2 receiver similar in concept to a HDHomeRun?

You can buy mine. I used it for a week and then took it off line. It just sits there and reminds me that I made a mistake. It can not process the high bit-rate (mp4) signals and I prefer to watch only high bit-rate signals. I am opting to build a server that does the same as the MOI, but with a...

    my first big dish

I agree with above. However if you are not ready the spend the money today, you can use the existing LNB. Actually it will probably work better than what you can buy. The only problem is that you can not easily control its polarity. You will be stuck on Horizontal or vertical. You also can use...

    Using RG-6 is so 80's. (IP-LNB)

I am testing a Satellite LNB to IP system and it is fine for Standard Definition. It is even OK for HD mpeg2 if only one or two people are watching at the same time. But it sucks big time for 1080i mpeg4 content. The processor is not fast enough to handle the high bit-rate content and the...

PBS HD CHANNELS COMING IN CHOPPY/ DIGITIZED ON AMC 21 ON MY COOLSAT 8000. HELP!

Those three channels are high bit rate Mpeg4. You will likely have the same problem with NHK 1080i on 58W and even NBC HD on 103W. Since other CS-8Ks are doing fine with those three PBS channels, I suspect a firmware issue that causes a bottleneck in your machine.

Have Ku - Is C-Band Worth The Effort?

yes. 10ft mesh breaks into four sections and will fit nicely into the back of a short-box van. It is a no-brainer for those who already have a C-band dish.

    Ku Satellite Dish Question

That looks like a cool feedhorn and ortho splitter (or whatever their normal name is) to experiment with. You already can receive one polarity with that ku lnb and feedhorn setup. I would pull that larger transmit part off and add a second single polarity lnb, just like the first, but rotated 90...

    NBC related questions

On the coolsat? No way. That is only SD. I watch 103W for the DVB-S2 HD content. Yes the signal is strong and stable once everything is tweeked. But S2 needs a strong signal to function correctly. NBC on the S2 signals often have four separate audio channels that I wish I could combine to get...

A new DVB-S2 receiver similar in concept to a HDHomeRun?

Well it is up and running. I only had time tonight to see if it could stream and I could receive with VLC. I tried it on 58W. It works good with SD channels. It was scratchy with NHK's 1080i channel. This weekend I will do more experiments with 720p channels and get the 2nd tuner up and running.

I have a BUD, but I really like the 1.2 meter ku dish fixed on 103W for the HD content. They did have a hockey game on this last weekend.

A new DVB-S2 receiver similar in concept to a HDHomeRun?

Good to know. I also got the email that mine will arrive this week. I am very curious about this new product. I will be able to immediately test it on a shared network that feeds four homes.

Finaly got 58*W bird but there a catch....

It is not an easy task. I spent a whole day tweeking the BUD to get all the satellites on the arc from 55W to 139W. There are so many variables. Still some signals are not as strong as they could be with a fixed dish. One has to know exactly where their dish is pointed throughout the arc in...
