Well in the past 4 days I have had to reset the receiver 3 times, this is exactly the same issue as another thread referring to a "slow guide".

The brightness is at factory default and there is no "back lighting" if you are referring to lights behind the TV. If it is interference from the TV, why does unplugging the receiver fix it for a few days?

The speed was normal changing channels on the receiver, but it was a while ago when I tried it. The tech people at Dish me told that changing to a UHF remote would not help with a plasma TV. They suggested moving the receiver farther away from the TV, to be honest I think they are guessing.
