    DVR for RV

No the question isn't changing at all. I have an RV. It has a 722 and a Dish account. I had HD Distants. They went away. I want them back. That's what I have been asking people from Dish since January. The people from Dish keep bringing my house up. I don't want Dish in my house. The other IRT...

    DVR for RV

That's exactly what I wanted in the first place. The Q & A you saw followed an exchange about an RV pay-as-you-go account with DNS. I was never interested in service to my house. So I don't need a 2nd account in my house and I can use the 722 I already have in the RV? last time I asked I was...

    DVR for RV

Great explanation. Now I don't know which IRT member to believe. So the snowbird tag your colleague set for the account in my RV, after telling me I could change locations as often as I needed to, is not going to work? Here's are exact quotes of my question and his answer: Q:"I've seen...

    DVR for RV

I have the snowbird tag on my account now thanks to a fellow IRT member on another forum though I've abandoned the idea of Dish in my house. I'm about to retire and it will be vacant most of the time unless/until I decide to sell it. I really wanted DNS but was told I'd need two accounts, one...

    DISH Network Launches Distant Networks

I use whichever arc works at my current location. As a snowbird, I will call Dish and get whatever locals are available there so all times will be local. East and West Coast feeds come into play when you have DNS.

    DISH Network Launches Distant Networks

That's what I thought after hearing from others but when I explained my situation, Dish was fine with it. My DVR stays in the RV and the house is only involved if I want pay-as-you-go. I can't say that makes sense to me but that's what they said. I too am anxious to hear how things turn out for...

    DISH Network Launches Distant Networks

They are letting you do that? My situation is pretty similar to yours and they told me I'd have to have a 2nd account in my, mostly, vacant house. I opted for the snowbird tag on my account instead.

    DISH Network Launches Distant Networks

That's what they told me when I tried to sign up. They also said I couldn't use the 722 I already own but had to buy a 211.

    DISH Network Launches Distant Networks

That was the plan. I take my one DVR with me and typically stay in one place for 2-4 weeks. A DIRT member on another forum suggested it. He said the frequent moves wouldn't be a problem. Can I still do what you (and he) said? Can I get HD-DNS too? If so, I may try again.

    DISH Network Launches Distant Networks

On two occasions when I called and asked for a snowbird account they had me fax my RV registration. (In both cases the fax was misplaced and I finally gave up.)

    DISH Network Launches Distant Networks

So how does this fit with what I've heard called "Snowbird" accounts. Is this a replacement or an alternative? I've tried, without success, to register for a Snowbird account. My understanding was it would let me legally move my receiver(s) between house and RV and get locals wherever I happen...

Interesting Conversation with Dish about using my 722 on the road in my RV

This and explanations for we RVers from the Dish folks in other threads make perfect sense. I would be a happy camper (pun intended) if I could follow their suggestions and it all worked as described. The trouble is the CSRs I get on the phone rarely have any idea what I'm talking about. That...

    DVR for RV

Though you did a much better job of explaining, I've heard that all before only to have the next CSR imply I was making it all up. Is that clearly stated in a formal document somewhere? I've already faxed several copies of my RV registration and receipts for my purchased receivers into a black...

    DVR for RV

After months of calls, emails and contradictory answers I finally gave up and switched my house to cable. Now I only use Dish in my RV. You're saying I don't need the CATV account? I've heard that before. I've also heard that one account for both was a violation and it could be cancelled. Is...

    No more HD Distant Networks?

Uh oh...that's exactly what several Dish CSRs told me. Its a big part of why I have Dish in my RV but cable at home right now. I'd never believe just one but were they all wrong or is the Dish policy different?
