As per the title of the thread, cannot get shortcut buttons(red/blue/yellow/green) functionality using IR "smart" universal remotes. I was wondering if anyone else has run into this, and if you have, have you found a way around it? Thanks in advance.

You should read my words again "the tuner in my tv sucks" as in the ATSC tuner that is built into every TV. The AM21 is a better ATSC tuner than the one in my tv is all I was saying. And actually switching would fix the problem, cause dish does carry my locals in HD.

It wouldn't be so bad if direct tv acted like they gave a $***, I'm missing my fox affiliate in HD. The tuner in my tv sucks too, so I guess I'm up a creek, might switch to dish...

That sucks, and D* doesn't offer hd locals in my market, and at this point they have no plans to.

Is there any way to manually add OTA channels to your channel list on an HR-24. A local affiliate just recently started broadcasting in hd, but my am-21/HR-24 is not picking it up, and I can't find a way to add it. Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Why did they move you to the EA? What dish did you have before? Just curious as to why they would've done that when(I assume) you never had issues on the WA.

Is there another spot on the house where you could move the dish to get around the tree? If not, you may have to walk around the yard and find a good place to stick it on a pole. Both scenarios are much easier and more affordable than tree removal!

It sounds to me like it might be an HDMI problem(I have run into similar issues). Try changing HDMI cables/HDMI inputs on the TV. You can eliminate the HDMI as the cause of the problem if you hook up your reciever through the Component Video input on your set. If the problem still persists it...

Are you sure it was a splitter and not a DPP separator? Also, the 129 satellite is usuall in the 60's(at least where I live). Your 110 and 119 should be peaked out in the 80's.

You can go to the front panel of the reciever and put it in single mode, using the PIP swap feature on the remote, you can toggle between the two tuners.

I just hooked up my Logitech Revue to my VIP 622, but I am not getting any video from the reciever. I have verified that my HDMI cables are good and that they are seated properly into there input/ouput ports. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
