Moving to a new home new home wiring

IIRC, the official in-house Dish rules are, one interior, first floor wall-fish is free, after that they're $50 a pop. In all honesty though, you may want to choose a different company to do said fishes. In house techs only have very basic wall-fish tools, and lots of techs don't do them.

Does Dish really install on weekends?

I don't mind working on holidays, it's just another day for me (with some extra pay!). Our shop requires techs to work either a saturday or a sunday, so no big there either. I do have some tips for you customers though, who do schedule on a holiday: We make noise. Double so on an install...

Executive Shake Up at DISH Network

The whole DIRT team is pretty awesome, actually. What would be great to see, though, would be a combined team for DIRT. Mix the great customer service guys with some good field techs on sites like this, and Dish could do a lot of good.

Aiming the 1000.2 dish on a tripod

According to Dishpointer, 110 sits at about 36 degrees, and 119/129 at 38ish. This is looking at Portland Oregon. If I were you. I'd aim at 119 with the correct skew. Should pull in all the sats that way.Again, if you can afford to invest in a signal meter, life will be a LOT easier. They...

Aiming the 1000.2 dish on a tripod

If you have to do a LOT of re positioning, a BirdDog/SatBuddy might be a good investment. 1000.2's aren't THAT much more difficult to aim, but that 129 orbital can be tough to hit. At least in my area, it sits pretty low in the sky.

    Question???

If you can, try getting those signal lines away from the weatherhead. Just 6 inches will do. If you can't, or it doesn't fix it, I'm sure one of the DIRT team can set you up with a tech visit.

    Question???

Not to step on yer toes Matt...but LoTech, are any of the signal cables running along/near house electrical wiring? I only mention because, I *JUST* ran across a similar issue in the field. Signal lines were ziptied along a weatherhead pipe, and it started pixelating one specific set of channels.

Working as Dish Network Satellite TV Technician.

According to my classroom training, no pie, coke, water...anything from a customer. Liability issue, you accept food/water/soda from a customer and get sick.... As for cones, I thought they were a joke too...but they work good for reminding you to LOOK around your truck. Saves you from making...

Working as Dish Network Satellite TV Technician.

Hey, I'm an internal dish tech, let me give ya some answers! Yes, it's hourly. No piecework, but we have a performance metric (the "points") that you have to meet, to keep yer job. It is FAR from a set 8 hour day job. On paper, it's 4 on/3 off, 10 hour days. Some days you get "hellroutes"...
