If you activate a package online, is it immediately available? If you know there's something you want to see, how far ahead of time do you need to activate it?

It was happening here too. I flipped over to channel 250 (The new fox reality channel) just to make sure I got it (although I'm not sure why!). Fortunately, it was having problems like is being reported in this thread. :)

Couldn't they set it up so that it displays as an overlay and isn't recorded? For example, if I bring up the Guide or Info while watching a show I'm recording, these boxes would not be recorded. It seems like this would be a good way to implement it.

What about non-activated boxes? I've been thinking about picking one up from eBay, but I'm not sure it's worth the risk. Has anyone been able to get a new box to tune OTA? From what I read, the info seems contradictory.

Is there anyone who has personally experienced this? Do we have facts or just conjecture? In reality, we may not know until after April 30th. I have seen bold, conclusive statements that say it will work and then ones that it won't. Can we know for sure?

So, what happens to the STB now that Voom has announced discontinuing services? Are they any good for just OTA digital?

I was just there less than an hour ago and was able to start the process for getting Voom. (I didn't complete it--obviously). :-) So, can the Voom STB be used for just OTA signals once the service goes dead? It might be a nice way to pick up a cheap ATSC tuner. Anyone know the answer to this?

How bad is it that, VOOM supporter or not, the real deadline appears to be March 31st? I mean, how many posts are we really going to be able to believe on April 1st! :)
