What the Cable Industry used to say about Cord Cutting

I agree with most of your points, but there are a certain number of people who really did "cut the cord" and went entirely OTA + Netflix. My neighbor directly behind me did that. I would say he's a true cord cutter. I'm similar.. OTA, FTA (Ku) + Netflix and that's about it.

Ok, what does that have to do with this thread?

What the Cable Industry used to say about Cord Cutting

Exactly. I don't want to unsubcribe from forum notifications but these repeated threads about the death of "traditional providers" are beyond irritating. Nobody cares. New tech replaces old tech all the time; weekly reminders aren't necessary. Nobody here is on the board of directors for a...

What the Cable Industry used to say about Cord Cutting

Wow, I'm impressed. Why is your salary relevant? You post similar threads almost every week, then you get upset if somebody calls you out on that fact.

Received email from Netflix about household sharing

I like Netflix because there's an ever-increasing catalog of interesting content and it's available everywhere. I've sold or donated most of my discs. The other movies I watch frequently are stored in Vudu and Movies Anywhere.

Well, I'm not positive that's what he means, I mean most of us watch LOTS of stuff..

Well, you're missing out. There's so much content on there that you'd never be bored. $6.99 month.

They've also added a LOT of content. That could have something to do with it.

Received email from Netflix about household sharing

The article doesn't say the growth is related to the end of password sharing, so I'm not sure how it's relevant?

Maybe the people who write the code for Xenforo lack creativity? ;) PS I hope you enjoyed "Send Us Thine Asteroid, O Lord"

"Unfurl" is the protocol that allows media posts from Instagram, Youtube, Twitter etc to embed/display in our threads.. here's an example https://youtu.be/hkTgYiMDRHY?feature=shared

Frndly TV adds some local channels

I wonder if their research has shown that these DMA's have the highest concentration of their subscribers, because I can't imagine subscribing for just one channel.. give me all of those "superstations" and I probably would!

    Vegas, the sports town?

Screw the A's and their owner John Fisher. They should be playing their next 3 seasons at the AAA ballpark in (Summerlin) Vegas, and begin developing their fan base there, not in Sacramento. They have zero regard for their fans.

Frndly TV adds some local channels

I would sign up if they provided all of those channels regardless of which market you're currently in. Kind of like having a "Superstations" package again.
