    Which one to get?

Both options he is looking at have 4 HDMI inputs so I'd imagine that's enough. I have an older model of the Pioneer VSX line and love it (albeit a 7.1 model). I also had an Onkyo receiver for about a year and was not a fan at all. Denon I believe is the parent company of Onkyo which for me...

House is ran for only Cat5

You should be able to use Cat5 to Coax baluns to yield the same result as long as each cat-5 cable is a 1:1 and is not split off anywhere else. I know we do this at work for video a lot over long distances using extron boxes. The only thing I am not sure about is the cable coming from the...

    New SimCity

The always-on DRM is a big issue for me and a reason I will not be buying it (the first Sim game I have not purchased). I play games on my lunch at work where I do not have an internet connection. The requirement to always be online to play kills the game for me.

Sprint To Bring FM Radio To Select Android and Windows Smartphones

I think all Windows Phones that were 7.5 had built in FM Tuners... at least all of the ones I've owned (Samsung Focus, Focus Flash, HTC HD 7s, HTC Surround, Lumia 900). The Windows Phone 8 phones released have the FM Tuners built in but the software is blocked (supposedly by MS). If that is...

    Suddenlink tivo dvr

Tivo Premiere and Premiere XL can record 2 shows at one time each. The Tivo Premiere XL4 can record 4 shows at once. The Q is actually a product marketed by a company called Centon who just announced last month they scrapped the product before it was ever released.

    America's Got Talent Season 7 (2012)

Based on overall performances Tom Cotter was the best consistently. I'd then say the dogs were 2nd best, Castillo 3rd, the kids in 4th and then other two could flip flop. Tom was the only one to never have a bad week... I believe he actually performed in vegas which gave him one additional act...

    America's Got Talent Season 7 (2012)

The only two I saw as definites were the dogs and the Untouchables. Everyone else I would say is a crap shoot. I wasn't impressed with Hockenberry's song choice at all... he strikes me as a Springsteen / Cocker type of voice and it just didn't work for me. The lightwire act I found to the...

    America's Got Talent Season 7 (2012)

Hell... they want to bring back the best from past years and go that route... I say bring out Metallica accompanied by Nuttin But Strings (similar to what they did with the orchestra with the S&M album) with Jackie filling in for the late Marianne Faithfull on "The Memory Remains" I'd...

    America's Got Talent Season 7 (2012)

Pretty happy with the top 3... Not sure if William Close was better than Joe Castillo though. I'm pretty shocked Howie picked Castillo over the dog... I really thought once it went to Howie it was a gimme.

    America's Got Talent Season 7 (2012)

I wanted William Close to be better... he disappointed me tonight. Same with the sand art guys. Tom Cotter I thought was great. I ragged on him last time having heard his entire skit before but I thought he was very funny tonight. I also liked the Academy of Villains. Third best act is...

    America's Got Talent Season 7 (2012)

I thought the choices last night were terrible. I am tired of hearing "this is the best group we've ever had" and wanted to turn off the TV when the little mariachi kid compared himself to Jackie. He's to Jackie what the goth opera singer is to Marilyn Manson... I'm willing to bet that...

    America's Got Talent Season 7 (2012)

They've already announced Season 8... they announced auditions a few weeks ago cutting to a commercial break. Howie will stay on board and if they show Howard the money I am pretty sure he'll stick around. Finding a woman to fill in for Sharon should be fairly easy... especially since they...

    America's Got Talent Season 7 (2012)

Last night was a very good night. When they announced the dog act was going to be the last act I was a bit worried that it would end on a down note and was happily proven wrong. I thought the cannonball act David "The Bullet" Smith was too one dimensional... I can see why people like him but...

I can actually see this being the final four based on past performances: Joe Castillo, Sand Artist Olate Dogs, Dog Trick Act Sebastien "El Charro de Oro", Singer and Mariachi Band William Close, "Earth Harp" Musician I'd have the guy and girl as a possible #5 for judges choice as long as song...

    America's Got Talent Season 7 (2012)

I thought Untouchables were very good... Lightwire Theater is good and will probably go through but I can't help thinking that the groups from past seasons that got beat by mediocre talent would be shining right now. In the bottom two I have Jacob Williams (who played off to me as a Mitch...

    America's Got Talent Season 7 (2012)

Just finished... I disagree with Turf and Tim Cotter... Turf I felt was boring. Tim Cotter to me would have been funny but he did the same EXACT bit on Last Comic Standing. As a result none of the jokes were funny the second time around. My top four would have been: Hawley Magic (Despite...

Backing up Bluray to MKV with TrueHD/DTSHD audio

That speed was about what I had on a PC with a blu-ray drive using freeware... it can fluctuate heavily though depending on how the disc was encoded (I would do some rips that would take 15 - 30 minutes and others that would take 3+ hours)

    Who Rents 3D Movies?

the site used a lot on blu-ray.com is 3D Blu-ray Rental Movies for Rent You can also use Vudu for 1080p 3D streaming for rental but not exactly the same thing. Based on some of the prices that the 3d-blurayrental.com is showing you can probably keep an eye on prices and get a good deal on...

I saw FIOS TV for the first time

I have Fios and wanted to cancel a few times but never due to the service... I went through 5 cisco DVRs / multi-room DVRs that never worked. I would get "rain fade" style pixilation on my boxes and had my cable lines changed out twice. It never stopped. I decided to buy a tivo to see if it...

    House

The only thing I thought that was missing was an appearance from Cuddy... since you brought back everyone else (though her not being there likely due to the way she was let go.) It was one of the few finales I thought was handled well though... no deviations from character, nothing too...

What's Up With The Lack Of 3D Broadcasting

I used common sense... As I mentioned I counted every announced 3D film and even removed the changes (such as Cabin in the Woods) which were initially released as 3D. At this same point in 2011 there was actually 1 less 3D release than this year; however as Hall pointed out the list is fairly...

What's Up With The Lack Of 3D Broadcasting

Based on a quick google and some box office searches there were 40 domestically released (there were a few overseas only films) 3d films in 2011. As of today there are 36 3D films for 2012, but there are also gaps in the theatrical release list that may or may not be in 3D.
