Network appears to be resetting on Joeys

I will pass those suggestions along. Right now I have the customer just using the system without the ethernet connected at all to see if that was a source of the problem.

Network appears to be resetting on Joeys

Quick background in this installation. Hopper 2000 2 Joeys 2 lines from 44 switch, ports 3 and 4 into solo node with client capped off in basement of apartment building. Not possible to run two lines. Tap in apartment junction Single line to hopper 3 way splitter off client of tap 2 lines to 2...

    Dish sure changed the Hopper

It's a shame they can't make 211s more UHF friendly. I recommended Hoppers and Joeys to several commercial accounts on account the fantastic remote control functionality and HD at every TV.

    6 Hoppers?

It's interesting you brought up the 44 switches. What's possible and what the manual says are very different. The manual says 3. The apartment buildings I go into sometimes say 12, or 15, or 20. :/

Super joey tuners not working properly on Hopper.

Cable and connectors would be the main culprits for the issues with picture/sound quality when multiple tuners are in use. With that system you're pretty much maxing out the frequency band of the cable. The cable to the hopper in that situation needs to be 3GHz cable. As for the system stealing...

    Wireless Joey vs Wired Joey

Bear in mind also that while the wireless Joey is bigger, it's probably a negligible difference in most scenarios. More important to note is that the Wireless Joey Must stand up tall ways where as the Wired Joey can lay flat or on it's side or backwards etc

Connectivity Issue with cust, looking for ideas

My codes came back red, multiple times, indicative that it did not ping with Dish's server. Thus lowering my connectivity percentage and my company's. As for the CSRs... well as any tech knows, you can get a TC on ANYTHING. And you've just got to swallow it. If you do your job well enough you...

Connectivity Issue with cust, looking for ideas

Forwarded some of this info to my customer. He uses a local company for all his HT and IT stuff, and he's got a modem that was not supplied by the telco but looks like a netgear you'd pick up at best buy. Hopefully his IT guys know more about this DMZ list because I all I could find online was...

Connectivity Issue with cust, looking for ideas

lucky, can you shed a little more light on that? I'm sure there's an IP to type into a browser to get into the modem but I haven't dealt with modems before (aside from setting up Dishnet and Hughes modems). How many IPs can the dmz support typically? Would you type in the IP for just the hopper...

Connectivity Issue with cust, looking for ideas

That's my guess.! I think it's safe to assume there's no credit issues on this account. We'll leave that at that. I had hits sent during advanced support. A HIC is still an option to try. I tried bypassing the server. I also tried a different router. Could the modem possibly have some sort...

Connectivity Issue with cust, looking for ideas

I thought about ethernet but didn't have a cable long enough to test the theory. Something I didn't try was HIC. I just can't imagine its an issue with the WiFi connection since everything else works. Jason, Yes. I connected one then bridged. Then disconnected that one, connected the other and...

Connectivity Issue with cust, looking for ideas

I have a customer with a connectivity issue I cannot solve. The issue is that I can go through wireless setup and get all OK for Server, Internet, etc. I can use On Demand. I can load apps. I cannot order a Pay Per View which is the customer's main complaint. This will not work whether going...

General contractor wondering how installer prefers wiring ruff in

Another vote for the outside box near a ground. 4 lines from here to the junction area and all cables RG6 3GHz or better. 3 for the maximum install. 1 in case of a failure. Probably will never need it but so cheap, take the precaution.

    Site Survey?

No one needs to jump down OPs throat. There's lots of contractors that come check out a job, write up a quote and leave before they aver actually make money. He doesn't know whether we do that. It's okay, fellas. Go with the suggestion above. Call Dish, set up the install for appropriate amount...

Replaced Hopper with Sling and Having Same Problem

If your coax is not rated to 3GHz, or 3,000 MHz, you may see issues like these. Every time your system performs another activity it's using another frequency band on the cable. If the cable can't handle this it will bog the system down. The truth is most Hopper systems will run fine on cable...

A look at the Wireless Joey and Access Point

Eventually, you'll be able to use this to send the WAP signal to another WAP almost like a network bridge for going longer distances

    EA/WA question

Whatever's on the tech's work order will be the long term solution. They wouldn't put a dish on the work order that wouldn't provide you with HD locals if, in fact, they are available to you on a different arc.

    Picture pixelate every 2 minutes

Something I see in spring often, besides tree branches flapping in the breeze in front of a signal, is water inside LNBs. In climates where it gets hot in summer and freezing in winter the lnb cover will sometimes crack and then you actually see water inside of it. Sometimes it looks like just...

Transferring Recordings to EHD without sat signal?

This is not a question about how to, that's been exhausted. What I want to know is whether you are able to transfer recordings from a receiver, say a 722k, without the receiver being connected to a satellite signal? My understanding was that you could not, partially based a vague memory from...

    The dreaded 82%

Ditto on wing dishes. That was on the dish install portal several months ago. Disconnect wing, download, connect wing, run new check switch.

I'd try the aforementioned learning function before getting a new remote

    Voltage on fittings?

We're actually instructed at my RSP to NOT to replace receivers if an outlet tests anything but correct or no ground due to the likelihood of another receiver getting toasted. Its 'sorry, sir, until you have an electrician correct this power issue I cannot install another receiver for you' we'll...

    Dish Hopper Survey

I've been doing loads and loads of HWS upgrades lately. Definitely seems to be what they're pushing now.

    The cable that goes nowhere??

That client port should be capped off if not in use. Even though its connected to a cable that runs through the home to the same room as the hopper its still open on that end I imagine. Hopper should be a fully enclosed system.

    Science channel

Which sats does your system actually receive? To get all hd where I am you need 61.5 AND 72, or 110, 119 AND 129. The classic 110, 119 with 61.5 misses a lot these days. Winding what you have. ?.
