Directv C31 RVU Receiver for HR34 HMC

Let me know if I missed something Advantages the c31 has over the h25 - has full dvr function ( access to the to-do list, double play, trick play on live tv, etc) - half the size of the h25 so easier to hide - has built in rf antenna - can watch am21 channels live from the hr34 - pull caller...

true that is, im just saying that the primary function is to record something while ur away from home or otherwise cant view at the time it airs. plus with dvrs u can record a lot with out haveing boxes of vhs tapes to sort through. dont u just love technology and the way is progresses.:)...

maybe typical was the wrong word. i think average fits better. the average directv cust doesnt usually bother reading or posting on forums anyway. otherwise we would see alot more people on this site. and if they do its not much. correct me if im wrong now, but i would seriously doubt that 10...

the typical person records stuff when they are away from the house. if at home, then they watch it and dont bother recording it. most stuff repeats the same night anyway so a person doesnt always need to record the shows at the same time. besides with the hr34 and 3 clients active is basically...

how in the world to u c that the c31 does less than the h25? granted it doesnt have its own tuner like the h25. but u gain more at the same time. the dvr will cost 4 times as much as the c31. so ya u can expect a couple draw backs. as a person who doesnt record much, this is will work for me...

    C31 now "public"

yes it has its draw backs. but if the cost of the unit really is the rumored 50$. it sounds a lot better that spending 199 for the hdvr that will basically do the same thing. and wanting to add on to my previous post comparing h25 and c31. on the c31 u can do double play, pull caller id info...

    C31 now "public"

true that. the only real advantage that the c31 has over the h25 is trick play ( without having to do the recording function), vod, size, pandora, less hasle on setup, can access the dvr functions on the hr34( manage recordings, to-do list), built in rf antenna..... did i mention the size? so...

    C31 now "public"

right... u can record something from one c31 to the hr34, turn it off then pick it up at another c31 or regular receiver via mrv. c31 has trickplay already so u dont need to record something to pause and rewind.

    C31 now "public"

u can do that with the c31 supposedly. it has the same function as the hr34( with a few exceptions).

question for those with a RVU client connected to a hr34

Ive read that if u have a rvu client connected to the hr34 that it will use one of the tuners on it. and the client will basically act like a hdvr. im wanting to confirm, on the client can u change settings on there, say favorites list and it not affect any other clients or the hr34? Also, if u...
