I still have my first generation SD Directv TIVO sitting in a box in storage. It has a lifetime subscription and has 20 hours of recording capability. They wouldn't allow me to transfer my subscription to a new one. It really was a bogus thing for them to do.

Every year, our Oldies station, WTOJ,, in Watertown New York goes wall to wall Christmas, from Thanksgiving to New Year. It's way too long to be in that format. I could see a couple of weeks, but 6 weeks is way too much.

Finally a good episode after the stupid animation episode, then a musical episode. So un-Trekish! I like SNW, but these dumb episodes take away from the flow of the series. The start of season 2 had two great episodes and the one between the anime and the musical was also quite good.

I did contact Directv over this and they are going to study it. I also asked them about neighboring local channels that are actually closer, but in another DMA. There is presedent for adding neighboring locals and I applied for this status, since the Watertown, NY locals are actually closer...

Same issue with my ABC affiliate in Syracuse, NY.

Tough sledding on getting new promo's right now. Seem to get the same old movie crap as promo's.

WWNY in Watertown, NY is the only channel that has local news in that DMA. The ABC affiliate uses news from Syracuse, 75 miles away. It doesn't help that the FOX and NBC affiliates are LP transmitters. There is a number of subchannels that could be watched, if they were full power. They only...

Too bad that tier of subchannels under 100 wasn't available for a better price. It's almost $40 a month to change from the lower package to the middle package to get a few subchannels that are available over the air. The only benefit is being able to PVR programming and seeing what's available...

That's all well and good, if they covered more of the U.S. I think that they only have three affiliates, in New York State, NY City, Albany and Buffalo. Pretty hard to get a signal that's 200 miles or more away. At least MeTV has resisted the thought of scrambling their signal. Same for RTV...

I find that the MeTV signal is a bit stronger, slightly to the west. With my 6 footer, I can get 103w, the ION channels, but it also picks up MeTV. Now, when I go after THIS TV, it's stronger, slightly east. If I go to 99.2w, I can usually snag THIS TV also. I can't explain the wide variance...

I wish they'd add anything, to the subchannels, in the nearby Watertown, NY DMA. All we have are CBS, ABC, FOX, PBS, CW. Boring! AntennaTV, or MeTV would work for me.

If it wasn't for hockey, this network could never stand on it's own.
