Kijiji, eBay, and Craigslist dishes for you to take a look at

The 12' Paraclipse has exceeded my expectations. So, I've got these two dishes pictured below that I'm not using. The 7.5' Unimesh is in great condition with the feed supports, come and get it if you want it. Make me an offer, it won't take much (10-12 spd road bike) on the 9' Birdview...

    How To Move A BUD?

What happened that you got screwed? You did the work and the owner changed his mind???

Kijiji, eBay, and Craigslist dishes for you to take a look at

Oh, I've been over there to look at them more than once. :D They appear to be on mounts made for motors to move both elevation and azimuth, although neither have an actuator. Come to think of it, I've never actually measured them, based on memory and compared to the now up and running...

    How To Move A BUD?

Same here. I had people stopping in their tracks to look at the Paraclipse I was pulling, I can only imagine what an upright dish on a trailer would garner.

Kijiji, eBay, and Craigslist dishes for you to take a look at

Oh man, a 10' or 12' solid, I'd have been there ASAP if it was within 50 miles. I'm still bugging the heck out of the local (sorta) defunct radio station studio to let me haul either (or both) of the solid 12' dishes they have sitting.

    How To Move A BUD?

You'd need a tilt on the pole so as to eliminate the need to lift anything higher than shoulder level.

Love it! I wish every dish could be moved like that.

Yikes, $750?!? NOS or not that's out of consideration. The other 12' perf looks good, at least in the pic, up close might be another matter.

    12FT BUD Question

I can tell you from experience that if you have an 8.5' trailer and prop it up like I did you'll have minimal overhang and only need some red flags. I was well within the lane markings and was so confident with it that I took a state route for 3/4 of a mile at about 6-6:30 in the evening on a...

How to move a 12' Paraclipse without taking it apart.

Decisions, decisions.......... Mmmm, what to do. Get the Unimesh down off the pole first I guess. I'm afraid my mounting pole will be too short to have the dish completely vertical.

How to move a 12' Paraclipse without taking it apart.

Easy Peasy Alright, despite intermittent rain as we started, three generous souls and I got the dish down, the mount removed, and loaded the dish on the 8.5' trailer for a mock up so I would know what to expect. While on the trailer my father in law pushed one side down and asked if that...

How to move a 12' Paraclipse without taking it apart.

Ok, wish me luck. I'm separating the dish from the mount tonight and heading back at 5:30am to load and transport the dish, in one piece, 6 miles to it's new home. I should have pics up later tonight and with any luck it'll be operational by the end of the weekend regardless of weather. :D

12' Paraclipse or 9' solid Birdview, your opinions please.

No, despite a request from the wife to do so, I simply forgot give the task at hand, not really a satisfactory answer according to the wife. That means I'll be driving up there later today. :D

Thanks for this info! I was wondering about the declination adjustment etc....

12' Paraclipse or 9' solid Birdview, your opinions please.

Yep, you're right, it was late............................I was thinking about that this morning when I got up. The 2' of overhang doesn't sound that bad. I'll have to hunt down some flags and maybe a "wide load" sign from a local marina or trucking company. The Paraclipse can go right on the...

12' Paraclipse or 9' solid Birdview, your opinions please.

Oh yeah, I took everything, the dish, mount/motor, and the stand. After having read through a bunch of threads on here I see I got really lucky to have the reed sensor kit and the scalar ring conversion already installed on this Birdview. I thought he did a good job too, especially for being 7...

12' Paraclipse or 9' solid Birdview, your opinions please.

Here's a few pics with my 7 y/o working the camera. Also, I'm in luck, the motor has the reed sensor kit installed. It's too bad that putting this in operation entails a new concrete pad. Now it's on to the Paraclipse.

12' Paraclipse or 9' solid Birdview, your opinions please.

Ah ha, now that I can understand. I have futzed with terrestrial FM antenna design and building for over a decade I have come to favor gain over pattern, in general. How any of those experiences compare to C-band I don't know but thanks for the info.

12' Paraclipse or 9' solid Birdview, your opinions please.

You are correct, but the 8.5' BV was marketed as 9' and is listed as such in their catalogs. I measured the dish and it is indeed 8.5'. I may pick up the Paraclipse as well, but the almost 4' of overhang on each side of the 8.5' wide trailer I have though is enough to give me pause.

12' Paraclipse or 9' solid Birdview, your opinions please.

I cannot find any gain/frequency info on the Paraclipse dish. Interesting on the Paraclipse pick, being (almost) totally ignorant I am leaning toward the 9' solid versus the 12' mesh. I'm not sure how much they differ at C-band frequencies , not sure the mesh/solid thing is a factor with the...

12' Paraclipse or 9' solid Birdview, your opinions please.

The 12' Paraclipse removal and move is scheduled for this weekend. Sometime early either Saturday or Sunday morning. As luck would have it while running for work I passed an old motel with a white dish out front, a quick look and I thought I saw a 9' solid Birdview. After turning around and...

How to move a 12' Paraclipse without taking it apart.

I've been watching this dish for awhile. The property it is on was sold about a year ago and I stopped by to talk to the new owner last fall. He wasn't sure about the dish or his plans for it so I left my number. Well, he called me out of the blue on Friday evening to say it was mine if I...

How to move a 12' Paraclipse without taking it apart.

I'll take pics if I'm not pulling my hair out driving this thing home. I thought about building a mount or a stand for the trailer to hold it semi vertical, but, it's not my trailer. I think I may just "go for it" sometime later this week, I've got the help lined up, hopefully I don't take...

How to move a 12' Paraclipse without taking it apart.

Has this been done before? Can it be done? Anyone got any ideas? Is it worth the trouble? 12' is a little wide for the roads here, but I've only got 7 miles to go. Four bolts gets the dish off of the mount and then I can lay it flat on the trailer, button hook and all. Here's some pics...
