Without the external 44 switch (or other model) there are less possible points of failure. Less fittings and connections = less possible points for water/corrosion (or other issues) to happen. Otherwise they accomplish the same thing.

Yes, and 3 from the dish to node/integrator. I would run 3 lines from outside to the home distribution area, and a line from there to each room. Hoppers require 3ghz cable and super joeys require 2100mhz. Ideally, just use 3ghz everywhere.

Have you tried hooking the setup to a blu-ray/dvd (or any other device that outputs over hdmi) and just make sure that there is no issue with the wiring? I know you said it worked fine with Direct, but it's always possible that a random failure happened at the same time as the switch to Dish...

Did you make sure that the Hopper downloaded the joey software. I have run into a few where it doesn't, and only replacing the hopper and making sure that the new one has it worked. Settings > Network Setup > Tests > View Counters. Then check to make sure the Hopper had Client IDs listed.

Yeah, they've said internationally that you can pair it to either Hopper in a 2 Hopper system. So, should work the same on 3-4 Hoppers.

3 wireless joeys and 1 WAP per account. Not sure on the linking to another Hopper, but I will see what I can find out.
