When I had a Hopper & SJ that's how mine looked.

This, had a number of customers do this in the past.

    unlinking 2 hoppers?

When I was an in house tech, we didn't even carry isolators. I think that there were some in the office, but they were never used. Like Scherrman said, a majority of customers didn't want that.

    wireless joey........not many threads

I find it hard to believe that a wireless router sending data wirelessly like it is supposed to (even if it's a high volume, but that is done regularly with tablets/smartphones) is going to fry a router or start a fire. I know there can be performance issues based on the router or network, but...

Which 1000.2 WA LNB Setup is better?

Without the external 44 switch (or other model) there are less possible points of failure. Less fittings and connections = less possible points for water/corrosion (or other issues) to happen. Otherwise they accomplish the same thing.

    Upgrade to super joey

When canceling they charge you to use the prepaid shipping labels. Could be what the clerk was referring to.

DVR fee replaced by Hopper fee on new bill

Internally they have stated that the change is to make the bill easier to understand.

    32.0 UHF 2g remote

Are you on the system info screen on the Hopper when trying to pair the remote? I know Hoppers/Joeys come with 40.0 remotes.

    wireless joey........not many threads

Dish requires a signal level of 45 for the wireless joeys. We're not supposed to install them if we can't get that.

Why do we have to pay for locals with Dish?

When I have installed a customer that has NLOS for the locals (that were all on western arc). I call in and tell them that we need to flip the arc and they can't get locals. The customers ended up getting $5 off.

    Site Survey?

I do this job every day. So don't speak to me like I don't know what it entails. I do know. It's a little different for in house. Yes NLOS can affect my pay (for in house this really only affects our bonus). But trust me, I've done it long enough, I know the job. I don't blame a customer for...

    Site Survey?

Seriously, you are getting ridiculous now. We all get NLOS jobs now and then. It's part of the job. Nobody expects a customer to rent a cherry picker for us to install a dish... If it can't be reached with a 28'er they should be able to get a 40'er but there is an extra charge ($50 I...

General contractor wondering how installer prefers wiring ruff in

Yes, and 3 from the dish to node/integrator. I would run 3 lines from outside to the home distribution area, and a line from there to each room. Hoppers require 3ghz cable and super joeys require 2100mhz. Ideally, just use 3ghz everywhere.

    Dish pole mount question

Yes, they make you pay for the first months bill in advance. That's normal.

    HDMI Limitations with Hopper

Have you tried hooking the setup to a blu-ray/dvd (or any other device that outputs over hdmi) and just make sure that there is no issue with the wiring? I know you said it worked fine with Direct, but it's always possible that a random failure happened at the same time as the switch to Dish...

110 goes out: dish will upgrade my 500 and receiver

Possibly in an area doing a migration to EA. Which would be an EA dish (1000.2 most likely) and a 211.

    Impossible hopper job!

Did you make sure that the Hopper downloaded the joey software. I have run into a few where it doesn't, and only replacing the hopper and making sure that the new one has it worked. Settings > Network Setup > Tests > View Counters. Then check to make sure the Hopper had Client IDs listed.

    Clamp Mount Question

And much less sturdy. I can see those being bumped into and having to be repointed often. A patio mount has 6 40lb bricks holding it down. And it sits on the ground. It isn't attached to anything. Much sturdier than a bucket with concrete. I think you were talking about the rail mount. Which...

    Clamp Mount Question

Why wouldn't you use a patio mount in that situation? It's going to be much more stable.

DISH, Please Use Us to Test Software

Dish sends the software to employees early as well, but I don't know that it's necessarily to beta test it, as it's maybe a week or so ahead of time. Plus many employees don't have time to beta test properly (at least I don't usually). And they don't really have anywhere to report it besides...

Yeah, they've said internationally that you can pair it to either Hopper in a 2 Hopper system. So, should work the same on 3-4 Hoppers.
