    Another Program Guide Question

Does anyone know if the Orby program guide works for OTA local channels if you don't have Orby service? I am referring to the plain Orby satellite receiver, NOT the DVR. If I buy a plain receiver and activate it for one or two months, will the program guide continue to work for the local OTA...

OrbyTV Self Install Price Dropped to $70

This would be a good deal for FTA use. Perhaps someone could tell us if the supplied LNB is capable of both vertical and horizontal. I know the orby receiver only puts out 13 volts. Even when turned off it puts out 13 volts to the dish.

    Orby DVR glitchy?

I had my $100 Orby DVR about a week. It had similar problems. Had to unplug it once to restore function. Then it stopped being able to "Pause Live TV" I should have returned it but I just threw it away. And Orby doesn't give refunds. Complete waste of money. I suggest you return it if...

Connect OTA Antenna to Orby Receiver

I have another question. I hope someone can help me. I now know the little switch is called a diplexer. I will be hooking this up in the house just off the receiver. The UHF cable is already there behind the TV. I have a preamp on the UHF antenna. It has a 12 V DC power inserter. Is it ok to...

Connect OTA Antenna to Orby Receiver

I ordered an Orby DVR Receiver. I already have an FTA satellite dish. I have already tuned in the Orby satellite. My question is how do I connect my UHF Antenna to the Orby Receiver? I uploaded a picture of a switch that I have. Is this what is needed? Can someone please correct me if I am...

    LNB LO for Orby

Does Orby receiver work with universal LNB? Can you select different LNB frequencies with the Orby receiver? Does Orby recommend a certain LO frequency? I just ordered an Orby receiver and would be nice to know this before it arrives. Thank you to anyone that can answer this question.

Need some guidance aiming dish for Orby.

Try the other transponder frequency shown at lyngsat 11980 V 30000. And the dish is offset. You cannot simply put an angle finder on the dish and read the elevation. Even pointed at nothing, you should have some kind of signal strength showing the lnb is alive and working and connected...

    Yet another...install question

The picture of the LNB skew appears to be skewed to the East. Is the satellite East or West of your location? Unless I am wrong it appears skewed Eastward.

Need help with hitting the arc on Kuband satellite

We assume you are using a polar mount with a linear actuator. If you are in Hopkinsville, Kentucky then your starting point is way off. You should use 87 West as your southern most satellite and look for the Patient Channel , 11800 H 2686

    97 W Alignment Results Advice

The only reason to skew the lnb is if the dish is not designed to be skewed. Skew the dish if so designed. This skewing compensates for the curvature of the earth and lines up the little antenna wires inside the lnb with the polarization of the satellite signal.

    Repurpose HughesNet dish?

When using the mirrors with the sun, the sun acts like a satellite but with visible radio waves. As you move the dish and little card board around you find exactly where the most concentrated amount of visible waves can be collected. That is where you want to fix the lnb so it can do the same...

    Repurpose HughesNet dish?

I have one of those Hughes Net dishes, it works very well, good quality dish. But you must find the exact focus point and offset angle. Use 8 little square mirrors, one inch square. Attach mirrors to the dish in cross pattern (vertical and horizontal) but not near the middle with 2 mirrors...

    Galaxy 19

97 west has lots of Christian channels. I go through the Christian channels and watch often. I also watch RT a little. I don't like television with commercials. I think almost everything on C band is like ordinary television with endless commercials.

    Finding The Arc

You must first set the basic angles of elevation (motor latitude) and declination. Motor latitude is the angle of the rotational axis of the polar mount above horizontal. Then find your southern most satellite and peak the signal using declination adjuster.

    motorized Offset antenna adjustments

I suggest you find (and tune in) your south satellite (with or without the motor). Then put an angle finder in the front center of the dish and read the angle away from vertical. Count vertical as zero. Subtract the angle on the angle finder from the elevation angle of the satellite (from...
