    TheList Question/Suggestion

Hi guys ! On TheList, I see highlighted boxes, and colored fonts. It would be helpful I believe to add at the top of the page what these indicate. I am assuming that the red text indicates a encrypted channel, but not sure. Just a suggestion ;) KCOutlaw

Thought that was the one it was on. Tried dialing in 103W, but could not bring it in. May be due to my location. Might try again after it warms up a bit.

Thank you and your welcome ! I am pointed at G19 97W. Don't think COZI is on that sat. At least I don't see it on the channel list. But I get COZI OTA, so I am good ;)

Hi Dan ! Below is a pic of the signal info on Russia Today. It is a little low today. We got some snow. Most of my signal readings are 80%+ and quality averages about 50-53% across all received channels. Think it might need just a little tweaking, but will wait till it is nicer out :)

Thanks !! Actually, I just used the hole that was already there for the DTV SWiM LNB on the left side. Think I told you I had the rectangular arm without the flared end. WRONG. haha. Same one you have. Just got back in town. Was spending time with the family for Thanksgiving. Will post some...

Ok folks, Here is an update on my DTV 500 Slimline KU Band FTA conversion- With a lot of head scratching, and trips up and down the ladder, and a lot of advice from the folks here, the project worked ! My initial problem I believe was a combination of a few things. First, I had the elevation...

Ok, Got everything installed and fired up the receiver. Now I have an issue. All sat's that I can get are showing from a 45%-80% signal. However, when I blind scan, it does not pick up any channels? I have a feeling this is a "operator" issue. I have tried several scans, but up till now no...

kodaz- Seems to me I read that somewhere. Might have been in this forum, don't remember  Anyway, I am using just one LNBF for this experiment, so ( fingers crossed) I am hoping there will not be any issues.

Ok Folks, I have ordered my equipment for my DTV Slimline to FTA Conversion project. This will be KU band only, and will be focused on only one Sat to begin with. Probably Galaxy 19. The following will be the equipment I will be using. RECEIVER- X2 HD Premium Special Edition LNB- KU Band PLL...

    Slimline Conversion

I want to thank all of your for your help and suggestions. It has saved me a lot of time trying to figure this stuff out. Guess all I need to know now is which bracket I need. My dish has just the regular rectangular metal arm, without the wider end. I have seen two brackets, which will work...

phlatwound- Thanks for the link. I did check out the post's. Very nice project and you did a good job on it. However, if I like FTA, then what I will likely do is get a motorized 1m or larger dish and just transfer the LNB over to it.

Thanks Dan ! I did read your post's. I see you used a DN LNB. Unfortunately, don't have one of those laying around, so going to get a KU LNB and see how that goes. I will try to get back once things are up and running and post my results.

ke4est- Thanks for the links !! I was really looking at a Dual Band LNBF, unless of coarse that would not work for my application for some reason. Thanks for clearing up my fog on the LNB's.

Thank you very much for the reply ! The reason I am using a Slimline is that it is already on the house :) Also, as you said, just getting my feet wet right now. If I like FTA I will probably upgrade to a larger dish. More than likely, a 4'. Don't want to get a BUD right now as I will probably...

Hello guys, I am new here, so I hope I am posting this to the correct place. I am going to convert a DTV Slimline to a FTA. I have a receiver picked out, and have found the bracket and scalar, but I would like to know from folks who have done this which LNB seems to work best. I would like to...
