    Strange FX Issue last night

Had a reminder set for Archer on FX last night (have AT200) and prior to it coming on all the sudden there was a completely different lineup. Tried to search and nothing comes up for Archer. Anyone have any idea what happened?

New DISH Install and some issues

Hi All, We had DISH installed this week at the golf course and the picture quality is unfortunately not really up to par. There's pixelation on the HD channels and also the picture appears "undersized" as in it has a black border of approximately 4" all the way around it. I can use the zoom...

FTA and DISH Flex equipment question

Google turns up a lot of these http://www.connectyourhome.com/dish-network/flex-tv/ and it "looks" like they essentially sell a home based system designed to let you subscribe to DISH's pay as you go service. My thoughts weren't to try and get FTA over a DISH receiver but rather to see if I...

FTA and DISH Flex equipment question

Hi All, Been pondering the FTA versus just signing up with a service for a while now and ran across DISH's Flex plan where you buy your own receiver and essentially set up your own system and pay by the month. Now it seems to me this is the best of both worlds if I can buy FTA equipment that...

Appropriate forum to post question about provider comparisions

Hi All, I've been tasked by our golf club to improve our satellite provider situation and would like to post a question regarding the pros and cons of both DISH and DTV. However I'm not sure if I should post in either of the two dedicated forums since I don't want to post a thread that starts...

    Receiver Question for commercial account

Hi All, I've got a quick question. I'm on the board of a local golf club and we've got a direcTV account that we've had for several years. The account is so old that (according to them) is has none of the common packages and we own all the receivers. We want to add an HD receiver and remove...

    First foray into FTA

LOL. Hopefully not, that's why I moved here, to get away from Cali. We're actually in Ophir, about 9 miles north of GB. Turtle Rock is on the south edge of town (slightly out of town I think). It's right by Arch Rock Brewery which is a great little local brewery. Highly suggest picking up a...

    First foray into FTA

Thanks for the offer Pop! We're in Gold Beach, we don't get 'em that bad except during storms. Fortunately Port Orford and Cape Blanco shave a few MPH off of the winds before they get to us. The Gorge is a beautiful area, at that height you've got to have some incredible views. Bout the only...

    First foray into FTA

Many thanks for the detailed and informative post. Yeah, I'll most likely just get the starter kit one and a good motor. Thanks fully the existing dish is mounted on a good solid pipe sunk in the ground well (I live on the Oregon coast and to say we get high winds is severe understatement)...

    First foray into FTA

Now I've got a stupid question, in doing some reading I came across something that said the elliptical ones are such that you can stick multiple LNBFs in them and pick up different satellites without needing a motor. Could I use the existing LNBF that's in there (the existing dish in the photo)...

That's an interesting question. Since I have the dish that might work as a bottom end one.

    First foray into FTA

Thanks for the response and welcome. Been wanting to do this for years but have always had a cable intnernet connection for business so couldn't really justify it. That sounds like good advice. I figure that the newbie kit referenced in the other thread would probably be very easy to get...

    First foray into FTA

Hi All, Decided to get into the FTA thing. I read through this thread http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/333115-Which-KU-band-system-do-you-recommend?p=3403747#post3403747 And checked out the system he mentioned http://satelliteav.com/shop/?ws_pid=1611&ws_cat=413 Couple of questions 1) -...

    Question regarding local channels

I understand, Just not getting why they don't have multiple service addresses as an option. It would seem to me that you should be able to have as many different service addresses for an account as you'd want. BTW, where in Texas? I was born and raised there.
