I too had a lightning strike a few days ago. It took out my ku lnb and Openbox S9 receiver and tv antenna preamp. Strange thing is that my C band dish wasn't touched at all. My dishes are only about five feet from each other.

Remove the cover of your S9.....It may be just blown capacitors on the power supply. My S9 was a little different........it would power on and work for a few seconds then lock up. I found two blown capacitors and replaced them and so far it is still working perfectly.

Turbo, The EF3 tornado that hit just north of you in Athens missed my house by just under a mile. We ended up with a couple of trees down and out of power for nine days. Sadly two people lost their lives only two miles from me. We took a direct hit from a strong EF1 just three months ago...
