Edit 4/1/2016 I have let the H3 settle in as advised. The EHD is still not recognized.

Yes the EHD does have its own power supply as required by Dish network. I ordered 3 cables off Ebay to try. Thanks for your input.

I too had to format my EHD for it to work with the Hopper. The way you format the drive varies depending on whether you are using a PC or Mac. I used the PC myself. Can you tell us what kind of computer you are using?

Call Dish and tell tech support what's happening. I had a issue with my HWS, and had a new one installed the same day. It might have been easy for me as I carried equipment insurance on my account too. Give them a call any way. Gary

Thanks for your reply. I spoke to tech support yesterday as my hopper was acting up. That is when I was told that an update was rolling out. The hoppers and joeys would be acting up during the update process. It would be completed in the next 24-48 hours. I asked about the guide menu issue...

With the latest software update that Dish has rolled out in the last day or so, has the disappearing channels on joey customized guide menus been fixed? Dish tech rep told me this was part of this update. Anyone know what the update number is so I can see if I got it yet? Thanks in Advance! Gary

Didn't work. Darn it. For what I pay each month I feel like a beta tester.

Will this work on the favorites list on the Joeys too? My favorites lists disappeared. No one @Dishtech told me to try this. Is it that simple of a fix? Gary
