So, at what point can those of us with all the requisite requirements for Live 4K broadcasts (ie. HR54, 4K Client, and Ultimate/Premier package) begin to request upgrades to the Reverse Band LNB's?
OK I don't understand the HR54 requirement right now. I have an HR44 and 4K RVU and so far I have been able to watch content that has been airing on both 4K test channels. Additionally I called DirecTV when this announcement came out and they still tell me they can't upgrade me to an HR54...
I think there was a problem with the C61K clients. People on EdgeCutter forums were reporting that their C61K's are only outputting 4K@24p which is why the 4K Material from over the weekend looked Juttery to some. On the other hand those of us using RVU had no issues and the video was a...
I've got an HR44 and 4K Rvu setup and I have been able to see both 4K Test Channels..... so far it's just been DirecTV logo's and lots of this particular Boxing event they are looping.
Yea I will have Fiber next month and I will see how things go with the way I am distributing my network connections (mix of Wifi/DECA/Direct Ethernet). I think ill be fine i'll have the Full GB connection to my main router, PC, and NAS... after that I don't need full GB access at all my...
That's awesome news, when will that be available? I assume as they start to roll out 4K and are doing installs for RBLNB and HR54+ in the future that they will also swap out DECA's...
Yea, that's what I was afraid of, might have to invest in a Top Notch AC Router and see if I can get better speeds to some of my rooms wirelessly... As I understand it, ASUS still makes the BEST routers on the market, I was looking at the RT-AC88U. Looks like a beast.
I wonder if it's the processors in the TV's that makes the difference. I don't know if the processor in my TV is any faster than the one in the HU8550 but I will add that with recent firmware updates the GUI speed of the RVU in my TV specifically definitely got better, to the point where I now...
Well the WHY is because I got a multi-level home where wifi strength tends to fade in some of the bedrooms and I don't have direct ethernet running to each room. So really the only viable option to distribute my internet and home network connection to the various rooms in my home was via DECA...
Has anyone else noticed the the Image quality of HD and 4K programs on DirecTV look better using the native 4K RVU clients on Samsung SUHD TV's versus the C61K. I originally was using a C61K and now have gone RVU full time because I feel it just looks way better and the RVU performs just as...
So I have my Home Network + Internet connection being distributed to each room via the DECA adapters feeding my DirecTV receivers. Question is, what is the Ethernet performance like via DECA. I have not had a chance to do some network throughput testing but I was curious if anyone here has...
So can I call DirecTV now as request those upgrades FREE of charge? Will I need to wait til they actually launch channels first? I assume they will provide the necessary upgrades to existing customers with the proper equipment that want to be ready for 4K linear programming. right?
Wait, I am confused. So I currently have a Samsung SUHD 4K TV and an HR44 Genie hooked up. I am using the built in RVU client on the TV and that all works fine for the 4K Vod that DirecTV offers. Are you telling me that once DirecTV starts broadcasting Linear 4K programming that I will need...
