    Do I need a mutiswitch?

My basement is currently under construction, but I would like to start planning my home theater setup. I want to run two RG6 cable into the basement, to hook-up a HD DVR but I’m out of ports on my sat. My current Slim-line 5LNB sat only has 4 RG5 ports which are all being used. Should I call...

    HR20-100 remote question.

Hey guys quick question. I was upgraded yesterday and according to channel 480 (as of last night) I am, Mpeg4 ready.:) After playing around with my Harmony 880 remote to finally work with my HR20-100, I can’t seem to find a way to switch between the two tuners. What button do I use on...

NBC HD and the NHL playoffs

I’m sorry if this has been discussed before, but what’s the deal with NBC HD channel 82? Both NHL payoff games were unwatchable. Horrible pixilation, freezing, and lose of sound during both games. Had to switch to the SD channel. I hope I’m not the only one experiencing this problem...

    Missing feature

Hey guys, quick question. I recently dove into the HD DVR world. I use to have a RCA HD receiver that was replaced with an HR10-250. The old HD receiver use to have a nice feature, where it would remind me of a program I wanted to watch and auto switch to that channel at the apporperaite...

    Interesting Call to Retention...re ST

To add to the conversation, yesterday I called the Retention Department to inquire about any deals D* was offering for the NFL Sunday Ticket. She gave me the usual blah bah about pricing. I told her I was interested in purchasing the ST, but did not want to pay $99.00 for the HD add-on. She...

    Contacting D*

I would have to give back the DVR if I ever decide to leave D*, so I guess it is considered a lease. On the other hand, if it ever breaks D* will ship me a new one for free. :)

    Contacting D*

I called the 800 number above yesterday, and was connected to a CSR named KC.. I explained to the CSR that I was instered in a HDDVR. KC explained that normally it was $399.00 with a $100.00 rebate, but since I was a loyal D* customer he would “hook me up”. He gave me the HDDVR for free, I...

    Contacting D*

I’m planning on calling D* today to try and get the best deal possible for a HR10-250 HDDVR. What is the best number to call, to speak with a CSR about obtaining this deal? I am considered one of D* best customers, so what deal can I expect? I miss you Ali!

    Thinking of jumping ship.

Look, D* has been very good to me the last five years. I agree that rumors from this board are filling my head with doubt. I wish someone from D* can give me a straight answer. If D* would cut me a deal on their HD DVR I would gobble it up in a second. But I can’t get a straight answer...

    Thinking of jumping ship.

“Great D* new lease program”. “I can now get an HD DVR with out paying out a small fortune” “Wrong!” D* lease program is a joke. (read above) New Mpeg4 switch for the first 24 markets, starting in January, no wait February, no wait March, no wait April. Sorry it is delayed until 2007

    Thinking of jumping ship.

Here’s a quick question. With D* new “lease” program in place. Does this mean D* will replace/repair their equipment at no additional charge if it breaks?

    Thinking of jumping ship.

My mind is not made up just yet. Your four points are interesting, but here is my rebuttal. 1. NFL ST I liked the server two years ago, but now prices are going up and additional cost for HD has turned me off. 2. DirecTV's better plans for the future. There plans for the future is bait...

    Thinking of jumping ship.

I need your thoughts and options. Please read. I’m thinking about jumping ship from D* to Comcast Digital cable. They clam, all there channels are 100% digital. Does anyone know if this true? I’m afraid that the SD channels will look grainy and dull on my 51’ TV. The plus side to making...

    MPEG4 conversion

I live in Jackson, New Jersey and I have been a D* customer for about 5 years now. I know New York is scheduled to receive the MPEG 4 upgrade soon (ETA?). Does that mean NJ customers will be converting as well? On a side note. With the announcement of D* leasing there equipment. Will D*...

    DVR questions

I’m thinking about purchasing a DVR for my bedroom TV non HD. I only have one coax cable coming out of the wall. Will I have to run a separate line in the room? The dish is on top of a high pitched roof, so this will not be easy. Just wanted to know if there is an easer way?
