    Dvr question

IIRC, the dual tuner one, you'll have to run a cable from either upstairs to downstairs, or vice versa. Optionally, you might be able to get a wireless transmitter/receiver (like from x10) to do this wirelessly, if you can't fish the cables.

Loss of Even Numbered 119 Transponders

I just checked... I have a Superdish pointing at 110, 119, and 121 with two LNB's going to the 3-input,4-output DP34 (I guess that's what the '3' and the '4' in DP34 stands for). I didn't climb on my roof again, so can't tell if it's the plastic or the metal one. When I was up there the other...

    Even transponders going belly up

when they replaced the LNB, did they also replace cabling, or left cabling intact? I've called on the phone, and they basically said they'll charge me $ to send a guy out, unless it's their equipment. When asked for details, "their equipment" only includes receivers and LNBs, not cabling or...

Loss of Even Numbered 119 Transponders

I've been having the same problem these past few weeks on my two 522's. Called customer service multiple times. They always blame the cable, since it's not covered, while if it was the equipment, it would be covered. I finally got to the supervisor, who said "no one else is reporting this...

NYC and LA HD Locals launched and available!

*sigh* I'm on the phone with a CSR right now who's telling me that I can't get NBC-HD until April 1st. :( I'm in Orange County... LA area (DMA)... wierd. Edit: The Orange County in Southern California, that is.

DishHD and Dish'n It Up Details

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought those who purchase still have to pay an 'additional outlet fee' of $4.99 (currently) So, the number changes for any extra receivers: Lease: $5 leasing fee, $5 DVR fee = $10/month for each receiver above the 1st Purchase: $4.99 additional outlet fee...

    MPEG-4, When?

I'm guessing you're right and it'll be a lease, probably because Dish gets all the money in a lease program, while I'm guessing they only see around 25% on retail boxes. Meaning, for a $400 (to the customer) sold receiver, they get $100, which amounts to 20 months of $5 rental. If they can get...

    721 Feature Reduction - C'mon DISH !

pretty funny typo, actually. he doesn't know what he doesn't know. :D Just found it strange that you seem to have emailed their sales and equipment branch instead of tech support.

    721 Feature Reduction - C'mon DISH !

No, I'm not. There's not much this thread is going to do to solve your problem because I doubt any of us here have access to the sourcecode, fix changes, and push them to your 721. In fact, I'd say that posting here has 0% chance of getting anything fixed at all, so all you end up with is just...

    Dish Network Website Wins Award

iirc, these 'web awards' are pretty much marketing gimicks created by the so called award company to get companies to pay them $$. IIRC, this is the same as the "Who's who" series of products where the 'recipient' always have to pay some amount of $$ to get x, (where x can be 'the publication...

    721 Feature Reduction - C'mon DISH !

there's an interactive weather channel in dishhome? I was looking for that during a recent thunderstorm and all I got on WTC was rita and katrina news.

If "E" does provide HD DNS, who will qualify ?

will residents in Los Angeles automatically qualify, or just for CBS-HD?

    721 Feature Reduction - C'mon DISH !

wouldn't complaining to Dish directly be more useful? Call a CSR, they're paid to listen to your complaints.

Besy way to upgrade to HD?

A 811 recieves HD but doesn't have DVR functionality. I think they lease 811's to existing customers.

All American Dish - Dish Network

not necessarily true. I went with sundish and have only a month-to-month commitment.

Why can't they have 'smart' resolution switching?

i just want a 'don't do anything' choice in addition to the ones already available. displaying the native resolution on the info area would be nice too

    First customer Dish1000?

Thanks. I'm in California, so 61.5 is a bit tougher to get. Guess I'll just have to be patient and wait to see which goes where in the future satellite shuffle.

    First customer Dish1000?

currently, I have HD and international and AT60 via a superdish (or 500, not sure) with 4 receivers. I would like to get VOOM and CBS-HD without adding a second dish and this dish1000 sounds like it would give me all that (and a bag of chips too). how much is the dish1000? do I just call dish...

    811 question with 720p/1080i

is there any way to get the 811 to NOT convert and just output whatever (720p/1080i) it's getting and let my TV do the converting, or would that confuse the TV as I flip channels?

    dish screwed me

I joined DishNetwork back in May. Here's my experience regarding contracts: 1) The installers (3 showed up!) said I had gotten a great deal on not having a year contract/commitment. (I went with SunDish, which another thread on here makes it seem shady, but I had a good experience with...

    CBS-HD problem

I called and the CSR said I can request a free second dish to point to 61.5 to get CBS-HD as I'm in the Los Angeles area and already paying for local channels. Then, once that is done, I can call again and add Voom.
