FiOS Adding More HD Channels in North Texas

These are not connected to the HD channel expansion that is now taking place. These channels will be used for NBC olympic coverage, altho some areas are reporting regular programming is being seen. When the HD expansion comes to your area CNBC HD and USA HD will be on other channels 602 and 550...

How Come You Cant Delete Channels On This New Stupid Img

Once you make the selections and choose Favorite Channels on the Flip Channel category it will not change the settings when the box is turned off, but why do you shut off the box?

How Come You Cant Delete Channels On This New Stupid Img

No - once you add/remove channels and go to Flip Channels and select Favorite Channels (rather than All Channels) you only see your favorite channels when scanning

    New Remote issue...

Whn FIOS TV went online last month in RI we got the new guide. Let's hope we get an upgrade here - 30 seconds on the replay is too long. Although I never had the old guide I understand there was a 7 second setting which makes more sense.

The skip offers the same: 30 seconds, 1, 2 and 5 minutes.

    New Remote issue...

Yes the 30 second skip works fine - my major complaint is that the shortest replay is 30 seconds. Hopefully a future upgrade will give you the option of having a 7 second delay like I had with Cox.

What the f*&% with the emergency broadcasts

Yes, I live in Rhode Island and hopefully the only thing I will get is "test" alerts for a long time to come, I was watching live TV both times so didn't realize that it would effect recorded programs. I can hardly wait for that  Regarding two previous comments, I agree the volume level was...

What the f*&% with the emergency broadcasts

I've only had VIOS TV for about 2 weeks, and have had two emergency broadcast tests, both at the worst time possible - during a crucial point in a program, and with 2 outs, bases loaded and the winning run at third (Red Sox game). Never had these tests during all the years I had Cox. Is this...

    TV service for Rhode Island

Had my install on Thursday - all went flawlessly. The new IMG is installed and I find it VERY fast, good interface and am impressed with the backlit remote. My only complaint about the new IMG is that you can't delete channels when you are scanning. PQ is noticeable on the SD channels and I...

    TV service for Rhode Island

FIOS TV in Rhode Island is here! I called Verizon yesterday regarding my bill and the CR said "you know TV is now available in Warwick". She said they aren't doing any installations until June 20th. I have an install date of June 21st. Getting the $99 package (internet, telephone & TV), plus 2...

    TV service for Rhode Island

The final public hearing by the PUC will be held today (May 17th) at 1PM. I would hope that an announcement will be made later in the day by Verizon on the start up date. The technician who installed my FIOS internet & phone last week said there were extra crews being brought in. The other...

    Just switched ti FiOS

Boy, reports like yours make me wish the time away. We are due to get FIOS here sometime after April (the approval has been granted by the state), and the more I hear, the more I want! I can't wait to switch from Cox where I have all 3 services now (phone, internet & TV). Thanks for your report.

Cox Cables now has Digital Simulcast of analog channels

I had noticed a great improvement in PQ with Cox here (RI). I had a technician over to replace a box and asked him about the change over to digital. He verified that the change had taken place. The PQ is better than what I was getting with DirecTV.

    New HD channels for RI

Cox, without any announcement, added NFL HD and ESPN2 HD this morning. But, unfortunately, still no agreement between COX & LIN to carry the CBS & Fox channels in HD

Cox Communications will no long carry the local ABCHD

We get NBC & ABC here in RI, but no Fox or CBS since Cox & LIN Broadcasting can't come to an agreement. Good OTA but the big disadvantage is not being able to record it.

    DirecTV DVR as receiver only

An update. I went online and cancelled the DVR service. The only thing that I can't do is record - everything else, including dual tuners, guide data, etc still functions.

    DirecTV DVR as receiver only

I presently have DirecTV solely for my summer home in VT., and use a Sony SAT-T60. If I cancel my DVR service can I still use the SAT-T60 as a receiver only? What features other than recording will I lose?

    Another FiOS TV Review

I'm with you - can't wait for FIOS TV to become available in RI. Have you heard any estimates on how long it will take for Verizon to get the OK for TV service? Presently have Cox (for the Red Sox in HD)), and DirecTV (only for TV at our cabin in VT).

Any code for Outlaw 1050 receiver?

Just got my Cox HD setup and have the Motorola DTC6412. Anyone by chance using a Outlaw 1050 with the remote? I have programmed my Harmony 680 with no problem but for some unexplainable reason my wife prefers the Motorola remote!!!!!
