    I'm sure DirecTV development team has a bunch of Roku devices with the latest OS. Roku is also working with their top channels on app development.

    Almost any provider inserts their own ads instead of showing every ad broadcast by a channel. Streaming services allow for targeted ads that are inserted during a regular commercial break

    Significant cost to install a dish and provide a receiver. People don't seem to realize that. DirecTV Now and Sling leave it to the consumer to provide their own equipment, which is why these services can operate on lower margins.

    Wish Vue offered Fox Sports SportsTime Ohio in Northeast Ohio. Only thing holding me back from Vue right now. Sling is tempting, but I would need a couple of add-on packs to match what Vue offers for the same price.

    A regular Roku box will work with Comcast by the end of the year. Charter/Time Warner Cable are moving to IP delivery. Also, why should satellite be exempted from the set-top standard.

    If you could get A&E, AMC, Discovery, Turner, and Viacom channels, plus FOX networks and Disney/ESPN for $35, that would be a good deal.

    Haven't tried Sling yet, but tried Vue for a week. The picture is softer than what I've had with U-Verse and Time Warner Cable.

    Problem is people are not actually seeing it in their lineups once they sign up. Or if they are getting the channels, live pro sports are blacked out, even if they are in the local team's broadcast area. There is a large thread in the official PlayStation forums about this.

    It appears Sony is using false advertising in promoting the packages with regional sports networks. Many users complaining they either aren't available or live MLB, NBA, and NHL games are blacked out. Sony reps not on the same page with their responses.

    Maybe, but I think they are trying to drive viewers on mobile to their own apps to increase ad revenue. I assume individualized and tailored ads in the ultimate goal with those apps.

    The blackout is only in force when an RSN and NBA TV are showing a game. No blackouts if ESPN or TNT show a game. I live near Wilkes-Barre and it's part of the 76ers market. If you want to watch Philly teams, get cable.
