Thank you. I just got it changed.

    ETF and Minimum Package

OK, I'll go with Grape Nehi. Makes me think of Radar O'Reilly from MASH. I'm trying to change my programming package to the Welcome Pack, but I don't see that listed as an option on the Dish page. Do you have to speak directly with Dish to make that change?

I'm on a diet so maybe Cherry Coke Zero.

    ETF and Minimum Package

Already changed to Comcast. I believe the 16 tuners about as much as I believe the sky is purple and it is going to rain Coca Cola.

    ETF and Minimum Package

OK, so the current ETF of $380 is based on the fact that I am not yet out of the original contract for a few more weeks. After that it will hopefully be $10/month

    ETF and Minimum Package

Oops, yes 1/11/16. Well in that case I guess the ETF is going to cost me big bucks.

No iPad, my initial contract runs out 1/11/15, I assume Dish'n It Up is when you do an upgrade and start a 24 month agreement from there. If not I'm screwed and will keep Welcome Pack until I can afford the ETF.

The Hopper integration is lacking as well. I like the Hopper, but more integration between the two Hoppers (shared recording list and managing timers) is part of the problem. I'd also like Amazon Prime. Of course I can't say I didn't expect this, but after a while it is getting to be a real...

I was planning on messaging them, but none of them appear to be on today when I last checked. I'll try on Monday if I don't see any on later today.

    ETF and Minimum Package

Dish is trying to argue that the ETF would be $380. Which is interesting since I only have 18 months to go at max and only 1 in my initial contract. They of course also tried to argue that saving money each month wasn't worth losing the service I get from them including the right to have my bill...

    ETF and Minimum Package

I had one HWS and a Super Joey until earlier this year. When I moved I had the SuperJoey replaced with a second HWS to add at least one tuner and have an emergency backup which I actually needed a few months ago when my first HWS died and had to be replaced by Dish. I am currently have 2-3...

    ETF and Minimum Package

Yes, the ETF is about the same price, but since I believe I have 18 months this allows me to spread the cost out for a few more months before paying out the ETF in a lump sum. It also allows me some time to finish off the recordings already on the Hopper and EHDs.

    ETF and Minimum Package

I am considering moving to Comcast and using a Tivo Roamio with 6 tuners. The two Hoppers I need to have to achieve this just isn't working the way I hoped and the SuperJoey didn't work either. Instead of paying the ETF, I'm thinking about dropping my programming to the absolute minimum until...

    DISH Price Increases

If you have 2 Roamios or Bolts do their recordings and favorites get integrated?

    DISH Price Increases

I didn't realize the Roamio had 6 tuners. That's awful close to the 8 I need. I might have to look into this. Thanks for bringing it up.

new carbon ui hopper experence app this morning

Actually most of the software is Open Source so there are no upgrade costs unless you want to change your system. I ran the same system using SageTV for 8 years with no hardware changes. I was also able to run the same software on Windows 2000, XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, and my son now runs it on...

new carbon ui hopper experence app this morning

Actually a fairly low end PC can outpace the Hopper. The nice thing is that if you want to speed up the interface you just put in more memory or possibly a faster CPU. I did this for over a decade and if it weren't for the two facts that my wife got tired of my spending time on it and the...

Which is why I prefer something that is customizable. DVR UIs are on much larger screens and don't need to be as limited as a smartphone interface. It would be better to give a "Simple" option that is like smartphones and an "Advanced" option that is more like a computer.

new carbon ui hopper experence app this morning

Dish's UI is faster than other set top boxes, but nowhere near as fast as PC based PVRs. In addition the PC based PVRs can be customized to the user's preferences. Personally I don't like the concept of the DVR list on Dish. I'd much rather have a list that a simple right arrow opens up the...

new carbon ui hopper experence app this morning

I am actually really looking forward to an updated interface and if there are improvements to performance that would be great as well. I've been doing my own PVR with SageTV, MediaPortal, Kodi (at the time it was XBMC) for years and Dish is way, way behind the times in terms of UI. I stopped...

new carbon ui hopper experence app this morning

ChadT41, I remember it as well when we first got Dish. My son was born in 1995 and we lived in that house until 1998. I know we had it up there so it was before 2000, but not much. I also know it was DBS not C Band.

He was quite happy. If he can actually get his grades up he'll be able to use it as well.

How Long Does it Take to Format an EHD?

It turned out that the 3TB would only let me transfer 10GB of videos before it stopped and refused to take anymore. I got my other son to surrender a 2TB he "borrowed" from me in exchange for the 3TB drive that wouldn't work with the Hopper.

How Long Does it Take to Format an EHD?

I had another 3TB drive around so I'm trying it now. I really wish DISH would get past the 2TB limit as I have a lot of 3TB drives around and in the isolated area I live in it is much easier to get 3TB drives than 2TB drives. At some point (not in the very new future) you won't be able to get...
