DirecTV 10 Signal Reading Thread(Transponders are Hot!)

I spoke with a CSR the other day when my -100 melted...that CSR said the turn-on was the 19th. Just got off the phone again with another CSR to turn on the replacement...asked the question again...it's now Monday, the 17th. After having read numerous posts here regarding what CSRs, installers...

    "DVR Fee"

My bad for not being more clear...my Tivo units are non-D*...just good old Series 2. I'm just going to continue to watch my Tivo'ed shows in SD until the units finally give up the ghost and then consider how to replace them...perhaps by then Tivo will have bought D* or D* will have bought Tivo...

I guess I've been out in the woods for too long... I just called retention about the possibiliety of getting a HR20 to add to my H20 and H10...I was told they were back ordered (as we have seen in numerous other threads) but she offered to add me to the waiting list. We then reviewed...

Here in Jax, a local non-network station carried the game...I get it in digital via OTA as well as ESPN via D*...there was no comparison...the HD D* signal totally blew away the OTA, which is a first... Go Jags!

    New HD DVD players announced!

Did they say what they would use to support the 1080p output, other than HDMI... The reason I ask is that I have a 52" Mitsubishi 1080p HD and it ony accepts 1080p input thru its firewire connection... TIA... Spectrumsp :hatsoff:

    Cowbos-Jags in HD?

Our local Fox channel xmitts in both SD and HD via OTA. If you have an OTA antenna, you should be able to get it thru your H-10, H-20, or HR-20 via an OTA antenna feed. PS...Go Jags!

    H20-600 has flipped out!

I had a similar issue of reboots after I initially installed my H-20. I unhooked my OTA antenna, which solved the reboot issue, then hooked it back up a couple of days later... Haven't had a problem since...:o

    Hughes HAH-SA Software

Hughes HAH-SD Software Is there a later update for the Hughes HAH-SA than 6125.0.100? Current unit drops the program guide after about 8-10 hrs...a hard reboot is then required to update the guide. This is the second unit I've seen this happen on and was wondering if this was an issue that...

    H20 = J-u-n-k

I thought it was one channel, because the tuner would always lock on it after it rebooted. I don't know if the local "fixed" their issue (if there was ever an issue), but after several days, when I hooked up the OTA, the problem went away. I haven't had an issue since and it's now been about 6...

Suggestion for a Cheap OTA Antenna?

I'm about 15 mile from our antenna farm and I'm running a SS-2000, with powered amp, in the attic and it works great...it needs the amp to pull in the vhf channels. Both video and audio (5.1) come in great. Hope this helps...:)

My H20 kept rebooting after I had it initially set up, as well... I had both a DTV feed and an OTA feed hooked up, so I shut the H20 down and disconnected the OTA feed then turned it back on...it worked fine. I let it run like that for a couple of days then hooked up the OTA feed... I...

    HD Local OTA Question

Allow me to add to Charper1's right-on comments... Your local OTA digital channels could be a mixture of both uhf and vhf frequencies...for instance, here in Jax, SD channel 25 transmits it digital on channel 13 (go figure). Therefore you might need an antenna which has the capability to...

OTA Tuners (H20) ever go bad?

Proc... Maybe I'm missing something here, but why don't you connect your antenna directly to a tv and see what channels it picks up...all TV's have tuners installed, especially older models, unless it's a "monitor". My H20 got the update last week, and I haven't seen any loss of signal on my...

OTA Tuners (H20) ever go bad?

Does your TV have a built-in tuner, either SD or HD? If so, try connecting the antenna lead directly into the TV and see what the TV tuner finds. If it picks up your locals, then I'd say it the H20. If not, then there may be a problem at the local antenna farm... the locals all come from the...
