OK thanks for the feedback. Sounds like it shouldn't be too big of a deal. Now just to decide whether or not to buy and HR24. Are they really that much better than the HR21s?

Follow up question. I want to replace one of my slow HR21 with a new HR24, which I will buy online to get what I want. The HR21 is leased, so when I call to activate the HR24/deactivate the HR21, I assume D* will want the HR21 back. Where will they send the return box for it: to my billing...

In addition to moving, I'd have to add local channels to my account too since I currently don't have any locals (SD or HD), right?

So what are the potential downsides to moving? What will D* do if they catch you?

OK. Do they ask any questions to challenge the validity of your move? Do I need to have any answers ready to give them as to why I'm moving? Wouldn't they want to send a tech out to do the install at the new address?

Do you have to call to change your service address? Or can you do it all online? Our HD locals just got pushed back a month, but DMA's 60 miles north and south both have them, so maybe I'll move until my market is finally launched.

For new software, it gets pushed automatically to your receiver - there really is no way for you to force it to download and install (except for CE software releases - check out the special forum for that). And not everyone gets new software all at the same time, but is usually over a few days...

I think they will still be CONUS just as the west coast MPEG4 DNS are. I'm glad to see the east coast versions are going MPEG4 as I hope to be getting at least NBC in September once I move into my new house here in Binghamton.

The 3 Disney owned HD channels were added in late March/early April, so it hasn't been 5 months. The new D11 satellite should be online in a few weeks, then they should starting adding some more HD. Patience.
