How to delete ads in the browser?

I've said the same thing before - unregistered visitors (who don't use an ad-blocker) are surely put off by the number of ads. They're distracting and even overwhelming and seem to be more prevalent than the site's main content.

Sinclair to buy Fox Regional Sports

Sounds like you're referring to WKEF (ABC) and WRGT (FOX) from the Dayton OH market. Sinclair-owned but 'controlled' out of Indianapolis. They do the opinion segments too (the very last part of their news broadcast, right ?) and it's normally done by a guy from their Cincinnati station. I'd...

    Winding down with Dish

Ahhh, I see.... That's not an option for me (anymore). Will probably check eBay.

    Winding down with Dish

I might have missed it in this thread, but did you sell your old equipment ? I returned everything except for the (single-tuner) OTA dongle that I want to get rid of now.... If you sold yours, where did you do that ?

    Winding down with Dish

They don't need anymore than an hour or two even for DVR functions as long as the system knows what shows to look for and it queries the available programming guide data often enough to flag it in time to record it. The more days available, the less frequently the DVR tool has to "look" for...

    Winding down with Dish

Dish chooses not to. That's all there is to it. It's done as a business decision, nothing more.

    Winding down with Dish

The rep specifically asked if the LNB was in a location that I could reach and if I said it was on the roof, I'm confident he was going to tell me not to worry about it. In our case, it's pole-mounted in the ground and easily accessible. I do wonder how much single-tuner OTA dongles are worth...

    Delete PMs ?

Okay, got it. At least I'm not full anymore ! I'm curious, when you "leave" a conversation, are they still on the system but inaccessible to the user and doesn't count against their quota ? I don't care if that's the case, just wondering based on the term "leave". Sure sounds like this is the...

    Winding down with Dish

Okay, the guy clearly said "per box" so I wanted to check ! In that case, I'll use theirs as I presume it include the foam padding like they use when the equipment is 'new'. If I use that and it gets damaged, it should fall under their responsibility more (as long as I use it right).

    Winding down with Dish

Have you done it yet ? If/when you do, would you mind posting what they tell you regarding returning equipment. I know they send boxes with return labels but I didn't pay close enough attention when he mentioned the 'cost'. I'm thinking now he indicated $15 per box and I can see them sending...

    Delete PMs ?

My PM mailbox is full (way overcapacity actually !) and I don't see how to delete old PMs. I can "leave" a conversation, mark it read or unread, star it, etc, etc but no delete/remove. How do you do it ?

    Sad Ya'll Are Leaving

TV (at least cable or satellite model) just isn't worth it to us anymore. It wasn't anything about Dish. We're not switching to DirecTV or Spectrum either !

    Winding down with Dish

Don't think too hard about it. Do what's best for you. I won't tell you to cancel or keep it (no matter the cost).

    Winding down with Dish

It's not about the money other than every time I paid the bill I asked myself "why do we still have this ?". Matter of fact, if the rep had said it would have been ZERO cost for a year, I was still cancelling.

    Winding down with Dish

Just hung up the phone with them after cancelling service. Our kids watch next to nothing on "regular" TV and my wife and I force ourselves to find/watch more than 3-4 shows each that we really like. Myself, I watch The Big Bang Theory (which is ending anyway) and The Walking Dead. I mentioned...

    U532 Hopper3 software

If you mean a bug or multiple bugs that have existed for some period of time without being fixed, you have to think what they are fixing must be pretty bad even if we don't see them. The 'visible' bugs, while annoying, must not be considered critical or severe by Dish's rules. Or, they may be...

    U532 Hopper3 software

No, and this is probably the case with most of the s/w updates, the changes are very much back-end stuff, stuff the users don't see. Could be a bug fix for something very obscure that they've only encountered in internal testing but no reports from the outside world of it happening. Think...

This is typical - come up with excuses when something would disprove an argument or just declare, "it's a lie!".

    Flat earth non sense

Nice job - he walked right into that one. It seems that in the 'flat earth' line of thinking, they don't seem to grasp the scale of things or how that impacts visible sights, measurements, etc. They use this same failed logic in trying explain why you can see objects a mile or so away and argue...

People will also pick and choose "evidence" that supports their thinking too, which is backwards from normal scientific methods.

Netflix has a documentary Behind The Curve that I just started watching for sh*ts and giggles. My wife kinda glances at it, rolls her eyes, and asks what stupid thing I'm watching.

    Alliance of American Football

Kaptain beat me to it. The point wasn't he thinking the prices might be too high, a whole bunch of other people did too.
