Is TURBO HD on the way out?

I for one came back to Dish when the Turbo package became available. I don't own a SD tv anymore and the Turbo package was perfect. If Dish does away with it, they better damn well honor my two year commitment that I made to them without forcing me to switch to another, more expensive package...

Here's my solution to the Turbo HD problem...

Well said! I may be in the minority here, but I'm happy with my Turbo. The price I pay sure beats the hell out of what I was paying for cable (programming and equipment). Who cares if I don't get some of the stations that people with SD + $10 HD fee get, you know what, I watch too much TV as...

I thought the app only worked on Wi-fi? Is there something you'd like to share with us?

    Comcast is coming!

I must be the only one who thinks Comcast HD was of equal or better quality. Don't give me bit rates or any other mumbo jumbo, it just looked better. Some things to consider: IMO Comcast DVR sucks compared to the 722, I've had both. The 722 is solid, no freezing, much more intuitive...

Theory- Why only some channels in Turbo?

I agree. If Dish wants to make their Turbo customers happy, just add the SD and HD versions. I don't see any difference as this is how they added Comedy, Spike and CMT. SD versions were added, and then lo and behold, they added the HD versions.

    RSN's in TurboHD only pkgs.

It's not that straight forward. I'm in the Boston market and my Rsn's are not on full time. For example, NESN which carries the Red Sox and Bruins are only on the air for pregame and gametime in HD. If you like their other programming you're limited to the SD version. NESN is HD full time on...

Is DISH adding more markets to Eastern Arc?

Ya, I just really don't want 2 dishes on the roof.

Is DISH adding more markets to Eastern Arc?

Thanks for the link to that article Scott posted. As far as future DMA's being added, it only said that there will be future adds to the initial list. Does anyone have any info on when and what markets will be added? I'm in the Boston DMA and dying to switch back to Dish, just waiting until...

Can't get past account info on Comcast Website

I've had the same problem, what a joke. First off you can't look at any promotions for your address on their website until you set up an online account. Trouble is I didn't have my account # so had to wait for next bill to come. So I wait until then, and then set up the online account, no...

Anyone else with DVR lag issues?

My box has done this on and off since the day I got it. Its really frustrating. My box doesn't always catch the signal from the remote because of its location, so you have to aim the remote just right. So before you realize its actually the lag you might have punched in several commands...

    Remote Control

Here is a great wikipedia link for the Motorola box (6412) and the remote. Use the volume lock section to set the remote to control your receiver instead of your TV. There's also a lot of other useful tips for other functions as well. Saved me when I switched from dish to comcast. Hope it...

    hd on regular cable line??

Be careful if you are looking for a box to buy on ebay. As i understand it, Comcast boxes can not be purchased, only leased through them. So if you are buying one, it might be stolen.

Loss of sound on CBS HD

No problem with the audio dropping out in central Massachusetts. The only complaint I have with CBS is that the audio intermittently switches between dolby and dolby 5.1, usually around the commercial breaks. More annoying than anything. So glad I wasn't losing audio during the Patriots game...

    question about the Motorola DCT6412

As far as I know the PIP does not work. The Moto box is not set up for it. I could never really figure why they waste money on a remote that has these buttons since nobody can use them (maybe I'm wrong, anyone that knows otherwise, please share!) As far as a better way to fast forward, I...

    Hooking up home theater help.

Not sure what Moto box you have, but if you have the 6412 or 3412 you can reprogram the remote to control your receiver for volume. By default, the remote controls the TV volume when in cable mode. Changing this setting will control the receiver volume when in cable mode. By doing this you...

    Go Comcast!! New HD's

Its not actually in HD. Kind of annoying really, I wish they would put something in HD in its place.

    New HD channels?

National Geographic Channel HD in Mass. Was surfing the guide last night and noticed 882 INHD2 was no longer there. That got me thinking, so I looked to see what else may have changed. To my surprise I spotted 821 NGCHD. Starting watching a show about animals in the womb in HD. Pretty good...

Comcast in Nashua now has big ads within the program guide:

I had them in Gardner, MA too. Really look terrible. If I want banner ads I'll get on the internet. As far as the guide goes, losing half of your data really sucks! I didn't get to watch last night so I don't know if they are gone, but I will certainly check tonight.

hd dvr box stuttering only on sd analog channels

I get the same thing too. I usually pause my DVR for like 5-10 seconds and then let it play. For some reason when you watch the recorded portion it doesnt do the stutter thing.

HD Lineup changes tonight in Nashua:

Last night the Sox were on INHD2 as well as the new 851 NESNHD channel in Gardner MA. I'd assume that maybe the games will no longer be carried on INHD2 from now on. Hopefully INHD2 will not change. How surprised was I when I noticed in the guide that not only did NESN get it's own HD slot...

    HD Broadcast with basic cable?

If I'm not mistaken, Comcast sends all of the local OTA stations that broadcast an HD signal on the basic tier unencrypted, in addition to all of the OTA SD programming. You don't need to subscribe to any extended basic or digital programming to get them. All you need is a TV with an HD tuner...

[COMCAST] HowTo - 30 second Skip trick for the Motorola 6412 DVR

No Problem, it saved my sanity figuring out how to get back my 30 second skip. I know what you mean. I had a dish 522, and really liked it compared to the 6412. I'm used to the 6412 now, but i still find that i miss the remote from the dish box, it was very user friendly and fit nice in my...
