DishAnywhere mobile app totally useless lately?

Dish has apparently fixed this for me as it's working as of today. There was no app update or change in my receiver settings so apparently they fixed something in their backend which fixed it for me. I had actually submitted a comment via the iPad in-app comment feature indicating that I was...

DishAnywhere mobile app totally useless lately?

I had a similar experience. My old HWS died and I just got my replacement today. The DishAnywhere app and the web DishAnywhere still show my old HWS (I know you said your web was OK). I did a brief online chat with Dish but pretty quickly got the pre-formatted "this is a known issue" message...

No audio when playing recording from one hopper on a different hopper

That's my usual strategy as well. as you said, it sometimes takes a couple of times for that to work. We shouldn't have to go through those kinds of gyrations to watch stuff on our "whole home DVR". Wish they'd fix this.

No audio when playing recording from one hopper on a different hopper

Several times I have found that when I tried to play a recording from a remote hopper on a local hopper, I get video and no audio. I have to play around with changing channels, choosing different recordings and then coming back to my desired recording. Sometimes that fixes it right away and...

    Hopper daily reboot annoyance

They need to get rid of this annoyance. It doesn't bother me too much but it drives my wife nuts which, in turn, is bad for me. COME ON DISH, SAVE MY MARRIAGE!

New error message #894 - RESOLVED

Is this different than the broadcast flag (which I know was invalidated)? I know what HDCP is but I think the broadcast flag, when it was still enacted, would just drop resolution down but wouldn't necessarily block the signal altogether.

Will dish come out with a cloud dvr like comcast is?

I don't think I'd be interested in this. I like having things stored locally (while understanding there are some advantages to keeping it all in the cloud). I currently have unlimited data through Time Warner but if that ever gets tiered, it would kill DVR in the cloud.

    Question about Hopper please...

No digital satellite receiver will do what you're asking as far as I know. It's not the fact that it's a DVR. It's the communication between the box and the LNB's. It takes a couple of seconds to switch channels on both my Hopper 2000 and my Hopper w/Sling. I haven't timed them, however.

Universal remote controls and the HWS?

Just bought a Harmony 700 refurbished for $70. I've got it controlling my Sanyo projector, Onkyo AV receiver, Roku HD box, Blu-ray player, DVD player and Hopper 2000. Works really well.

    Both Hoppers need Slings

If you go to Settings and select the hopper 2000, it will let you see what's on that hopper. You just can't play anything from it without the sling adapter.

    Both Hoppers need Slings

It's kind of misleading. You can see the content and actually watch it on the hopper w/ sling. If you have a hopper w/out sling, you can see the content on it, but if you try to watch anything it says "hey, you need a sling adapter to do that". The first time I tried it I thought "alright, I...

Joey automatically linking to a different hopper

Thanks. I'll try the MENU-MENU trick next time it happens.

Joey automatically linking to a different hopper

Joey = S292 Hopper w/ Sling = S309 (this is the hopper the joey is supposed to be connected to) Hopper 2000 = S246 All 3 show four green MoCA bars - at least at the moment. Currently the joey is connected to the correct hopper.

Joey automatically linking to a different hopper

I just have one joey. There's no one else in the house who even knows how any of this works. They just turn on the TV and watch. Maybe we have a ghost. Or gremlins. Based on the # of views and the lack of comments, I'm going to assume my problem is unique. Bummer.

Joey automatically linking to a different hopper

My hopper/Joey setup is fairly new so I'm still getting to know it. Twice in the last three days my Joey has unlinked itself from one hopper and linked itself to my other hopper. I searched the forum but didnt see a reference to this issue. Is there something I can do to prevent this from...

Multiple hoppers and unified DVR list

If they added a unified option, I would rather it stick on whatever option you chose last. That way if your preferred choice is "All", you don't have to set it every time. And if your preferred choice is "Master Bedroom" it would stick as well.

That's why I suggested adding an "All" option but not taking existing functionality away.

Multiple hoppers and unified DVR list

Just switched from DirecTV and their whole home DVR solution to a Dish setup with the equipment in my signature. Overall I like the hopper setup better. However, the one thing that irritates me is that there is no unified DVR list which shows all recordings on all hoppers in a single list. It...

Hook up a slingbox to a hopper (2000)?

Yep. Just got a hopper 2000 installed Tuesday and hooked up my Solo to it and it works great. It looks like you can't access it with Dish Anywhere but it works fine using slingbox.com.

    Blocking/hiding adult on-demand

Thanks for verifying. I played around with it again last night and still couldn't get those shows to vanish. At this point, the risk of exposing my kids to stuff isn't really worth the 3 months of free premiums so I think I'll just tell Dish to turn them all off. And I agree that this is...

    Blocking/hiding adult on-demand

I suspect a lot of these adult titles are coming from Cinemax which I'm getting for free right now as a new customer. Maybe I can have DISH turn off the Cinemax channels and that will eliminate the issue. Now that I think about it, even though I have the Cinemax channels locked, these same...

    Blocking/hiding adult on-demand

I just had 2 hoppers and a joey installed today. I know how to block/hide the channels from the guide. How do I prevent adult titles from appearing in the on-demand list? Right now, I don't even want the kids opening the list of on-demand movies because of some of the items in there. Thanks.
