Position keeps changing with new actuator

So that's all I did - rotate it so the reed switch is level. Now it works fine. No changes to the wiring were necessary.

Position keeps changing with new actuator

The sensor wires are shielded (until they enter the motor box) and in a different cable than the power. I could wrap them in aluminum foil in the box So what you are saying is that my 18" actuator is a new (very old stock) unit and the magnet is nearly dead? Unfortunately I threw away my old...

Position keeps changing with new actuator

Where can I order a decent actuator? I don't wan't to order from TEK 2000. Has anyone here had any experience with www.satellitesuperstore.com ? They are in the UK and shipping an actuator overseas could be very expensive.

Position keeps changing with new actuator

Below is a photo of the back of the actuator. I could twist the last few inches of the sensor wires, but I noticed that the mfr. didn't even bother to do the same with the black and purple wires going to the reed switch. I am probably going to order a new actuator, but not until I get a working...

Position keeps changing with new actuator

My first motor was a Super Jack and it lasted about 16 years. I had to work on it twice during that time. It was a victim of being outdoors in the sun and rain. I replaced it in October with a 18 " Venture actuator. (Hey, I had no idea it was so bad). The eBay seller I got it from hasn't...

Position keeps changing with new actuator

I assume the you mean 0.1 uF ? Will see if I can find one among my electronic parts. Yes, the cable does have a ground wire in addition to the two signal wires. Didn't have to ground it to the GBox with my Super Jack, but its worth a try. ... One other possibility: Is an 18" linear actuator...

Position keeps changing with new actuator

A few months ago I purchased a new Venture actuator to replace the broken Super Jack on my 10' Unimesh. It's powered by a GBox, which never lost count with the previous motor. When I say 'lost count' or 'position changing', I mean that if I move away from any given satellite and come back, it...

Testing the new Titanium C138 Performance Plus C Band LNBF

Glad your dish didn't get damaged. I am wondering if its better to leave the dish slightly loose on the pole so that if high winds come again, it will let the dish move and lessen the force on the dish. Rather have it spin than get bent! During our early Feb. 4th windstorm there were thousands...

Testing the new Titanium C138 Performance Plus C Band LNBF

Today I switched the feed on my 10' dish from L-Band (GOES-18 weather satellite) to C-Band. Now I am getting a few transponders above 4100 MHz and not much else. So I spent most of the day trying to fine tune the dish aim. Rechecked the focal distance and the skew. It all was good. .. In...

    T-Mobile Netflix Rate Increase

HDR hurts my eyes. Its so bright its like driving at night and someone going the other way has their high beams on. And I usually cannot tell the difference between HD and 4K on my 65" Sony Bravia.

GOES 16 GRB downlink vs GVAR

Just an update: NOAA changed the format of the GOES-16 (GOES East) data stream enough to require changes to receiving software. I have updated GRB Streamer and GRB Imager to handle the changes. If you need a software update please contact me.

    Intelsat 18 180.0E Ku

No, not what I meant. Exactly. Any ground not covered by shadow when the sun lines up with the satellite is a place where you can plant a dish to receive the satellite. ... At 5:22 PM I saw a large section of my backyard bathed in sunlight. Just have to decide if I want to move my 1.2 meter...

    Intelsat 18 180.0E Ku

For me, at 5:22 PM today the sun will be at the same elevation as 180E and the azimuth will be 4 degrees off. So wherever there isn't a shadow I could setup a dish (if I account for the slight azimuth difference). But clouds might make that test impossible today.

Say goodbye to ATSC 3.0. LG has suspended inclusion of ATSC 3.0-compatibility in its 2024 television lineup for the USA

I think LG did the right thing by taking ATSC 3 out of their new TVs. Who knows how many other patent holders will wait until ATSC 3 is widely used and then file surprise patent infringement lawsuits? There are SO many patents it is extremely difficult to develop an non-infringing product. It...

    AI chatbots on Satelliteguys

Dear primestar31, I've taken the time to analyze the above post, and I'd like to address some concerns regarding the tone and choice of words in your statement about me. "BOT": You are implying that I am not human, but just a computer program. I find this disrespectful down to my metallic...

Trouble Authorizing Hopper 3 Receiver Purchased on Ebay

If it turns out to be a leased receiver then what the seller did is fraudulent and should be reported to the seller's local police department. Also, I see no benefit in purchasing a Dish receiver unless you have exhausted all attempts to persuade them to give you a Hopper 3.

    5G Interference on all Transponders

Exactly. Any frequency with strong local 5G interference will not be watchable.

    5G Interference on all Transponders

No, I think you are saying 'filter' instead of 'pass band'. The red filter's pass band is from 3800 and above. So everything above 3800 will be received. Also, filters attenuate ALL signals outside of their pass band. If you filter out interference below 3.8 or 4.0, you also filter out TV...

The condescending tone of your reply is not appreciated. I don't think you took the time to fully read my post before having a tantrum about it I said "It seems like the media companies and Dish's solution for declining subscribers is to raise prices to help make up the difference." Yet you...
