Where can I find an old Dishplayer 7100?

More power to you, but these were pieces of junk 25 years ago. I can't imagine they would work on any level these days...

Dish Wally Reception Error (Complete Signal Loss)

Wallys "can" be a real pain in the rear. A couple things to check, make sure it isn't stuck in the "tuner 0" glitch. Go to the signal strength screen, and make sure tuner 1 is selected, then try the the switch check again. It can take a bit of "smacking it around" (so to speak) to get past that...

How to improve signal on roof antenna manually?

66 is actually very good signal strength. It goes to 125 for no good reason, I think the strongest I have ever seen, on a spot beam transponder with a large commercial grade dish was upper 70s. When I install a dish, I am perfectly happy with a signal in the 50s. It is very unlikely you could...

    Dual HWS issue

They are, but that moca runs over coax just as everything else in the setup.

    Dual HWS issue

Depends on how it is all connected now, how many joeys do you have? But it doesn't really matter, the cable that runs a HWS now, will run a joey after the upgrade, no issues.

    Dual HWS issue

As others have said, Hopper 3 is the way to go. So much better than 2xHWS.

The work around for the current tailgater issue.

Went out on a service call for a Wally/Tailgater yesterday (1st problem was TV was on wrong input). We hadn't had any RV service calls in a few months, and I hadn't thought much about it, but I assumed dish would have had a software fix for the tailgater 129 issue by now.... Nope, software...

The work around for the current tailgater issue.

My bad, I live on the West coast and forget that plenty of people can see 61.5. Around here it is at an 8 degree elevation and next to impossible to see. Yes it should work fine assuming you can see it.

The work around for the current tailgater issue.

My boss was on the phone with King Controls and according to them, the Hybrid option doesn't work, as soon as it can't find 61.5, it is done. We have yet to test that though. They also did confirm it is Dish's issue, Dish needs to update software. HEY DishHelp , GET ON THAT!

The work around for the current tailgater issue.

We have been dealing with this issue for many weeks now, it affects all receivers designed to work with the tailgater. During the satellite acquisition stage, the receiver will get stuck on 3 of 3 for 211 receivers or the 3rd part of the progress bar on Wally's. It is looking for 129, which of...

    Tailgater and VIP211Z

The hybrid lnb emulates multiple different lnbs. The Hopper 3 utilizes "DPZ", which is how it gets it's 16 tuners. You can run up to 8 or even 16 Wallys (in single tuner mode) off of 1 DPH lnb and a DPH42 power supply. Generally that is only done in commercial installations. It emulates the...

    Tailgater and VIP211Z

Yes, all the Hopper Duo needs is a DPP lnb. They are a good deal cheaper than that DPH lnbs, so they are used whenever possible. It will work with a DPH lnb, the DPH lnb just emulates a DPP lnb when that is what is needed.

Upgrading from Dish 1000 to Hopper 3 and Joey

Solo node works for Hopper 1 & 2, not 3. You need a Dish 1000.2 & Hybrid LNB, you need a hub if you are going to add wired Joeys. You will need a Western or Eastern Arc LNB, depending on where you live.

    Tailgater and VIP211Z

No, you cannot have a Hopper duo on an acct with any other hoppers (we have tried). It is silly, but that is their rules...

    Tailgater and VIP211Z

Also, the only difference between a 211z and a 211k is the z lacks component and channel 3 output and off air antenna in, just like the Wally. Functionally they are identical.
  19. brad1138

    Tailgater and VIP211Z

No it does not, only 211s and Wallys. Hopper Duo "might", it is just a Wally with a hard drive, but it would have more trouble running on 1 tuner than the Wally does.

    Tailgater and VIP211Z

This is a problem with Wallys, 211Ks, 211Zs and probably the original 211 if there are any of those still out there. Dish NEEDS to get software fixes for all of them, they are having fits with tailgaters and the lack of 129. A couple work arounds that sometimes work. Unplug your receiver...

Why doesn’t my Hopper 3 shut off (go to sleep) from the remote power button?

I used a watt meter and tested it a few years ago. The Hopper3 used ~50 watts regardless of if it was on or not.

Tailgater issues after 129 retirement. (Western Arc issue only)

Tailgater issues after 129 retirement. (Western Arc issue only)

When running 44 or 42 etc. switches, we always use individual DP Lnbs with a "W" bracket. Higher gain and less prone to issues. We recently had to travel to all our Smart Box accts, about 30 of them over 2 states (Washington and Oregon), and reprogram them to remove 129. Dish recommended...

Tailgater issues after 129 retirement. (Western Arc issue only)

The more I thought about this today, it made a lot of sense. If you move the Tailgater, it has to start over and it isn't relying on anything in its memory. Thanks.
