    811 OTA Upgrade recommendations ???

I have lived with the 811 for the past year and a half. During that time, OTA HD reception has been iffy at best. Usually I get a signal strength less than 49%, therefore no programming. Just purchased an HD TV with integrated tuner, and that set receives and displays ALL local OTA HD...

Been a relatively happy 811 user for 6 months. Live in Oracle, Az. at 5000 foot elevation and have line of site to Phoenix stations 90 miles distant. Have enjoyed all network HD feeds until late last month. At that time, ABC-15 completely fell out. Rechecked antenna allignment and all is well...

I received my 811 free of charge as a new subscriber and a commitment to 12 months of satellite HD. If, at the end of the contract period I decide to drop the satellite HD, will I still be able to recieve OTA HD ?

    OTA multipath, signal lock problems

I too am experiencing multipath, signal lock problems on one of the three major network feeds. However, if I allow the 811 to "do its thing", I ultimately get signal lock in 20 to 40 seconds. Once locked, its there for the duration of my viewing period. I just watch it bounce around from less...

Thanks .... and for what its worth ...

Ummmmmmm ...... I believe that's what I did Gary. Originally, I had only component HD feed into the Sony, set at 1080I. A footnote in the 811 manual states that SD on this setup defaults to 480P. Since the Sony signal processor only works with 480I, I had to add a composite feed from the...

Thanks .... and for what its worth ...

Thanks to John and Roland, I was able to get a 480I feed from my 811 into my Sony KF-42WE610. With the 480I feed, I was then able to compare the signal processing performance of the Sony to that of the 811. After 15 minutes of switching between the 811 and the Sony, I, as well as two others...

    New user help

Just installed the 811 receiver attached to a Sony 42 inch LCD projection. To my dismay, none of the Sony signal processing functions are active. After a detailed review of the 811 user manual, discovered that all non-HD signals are sent to the TV as 480P signals. The Sony requires 480I inputs...
