Price increases in February 2014 (UPDATED!)

Well, they finally did it. Long time AEP sub now an AT250 sub. These prices are getting out of hand (I know, it's the same everywhere, but still)...

Superstations No Longer Offered A La Carte Effective 9/19

I'm glad that they are at least going to grandfather in existing subscribers to the package. I imagine at some point, they'll drop them all together, but nice that they'll stick around for now. I have been a sub of the superstations package for many years, and would be disappointed to lose them.

    Service Restored to 129 Satellite!

I thought it was 2-51... It should be noted that the *real* channel they broadcast on is usually UHF, but a lot of DMA's have one or more channels in the VHF range. Like Chicago has channel 7.1 (ABC) on real channel 7 (though they also broadcast their signal on UHF 44). Their channel 2.1...

FOX Programming moved to a digital sub-channel. Will Dish carry?

In the Fayetteville/Fort Smith DMA, the CW is carried on a digital sub-channel and Dish Network carries it. So, hopefully you'll still get it. Very doubtful you'd ever see it in HD though, as only the "main" channel usually gets HD treatment. Though with feeds to satellite providers, who knows?

    Cable and TV2 Combination

Yeah, sorry about that, I have the same notch/band stop filter that Digiblur mentioned (blocks cable channels 75-80). I think my next step will be checking what comes out of the reversed splitter, before the diplexer, and see what channels make it through. I'm convincing myself more and more...

    Cable and TV2 Combination

I have a similar setup to this, but can't get my TV's with the combined TV2/Cable to find digital cable channels. I have attached a sketch of my setup. I have basic Comcast cable coming into the house (note that if I tap off of it directly, I get analog locals, digital locals, and HD locals...

Enter to Win: Sponsors Super Satellite Sampler System - Contest Ends 2.28.2010

What got you interested to purchase your first Free to Air satellite system? Being able to watch programming without having to pay. I'm tired of paying all this money for a few channels that I actually watch.

If you don't want to have to do the math for the discounts being offered to new subscribers, then click the "No" option under DHA Commitment. That will remove any "promo credits".

    BBCAHD.....

By the way, for those of you concerned if they're going to cut this show to threads with commercials, if you watch Torchwood on the first night each episode airs, the guide says it is 1 hour and 15 minutes long. Since the BBC series was right at an hour (57-58 minutes if I remember from when I...

    BBCAHD.....

The whole show is dark, pessimistic, and depressing... That being said, it's still a really good show, IMHO.

Guide starting to burn-in on my HDTV, any fix?

That's weird, I thought that LCD TV's were not subject to burn-in.

Anyone having horrible issues with 129?

I started having major issues recently with 129, and I think it was due to tree growth. We had gotten it retweaked last year, but spring came and started having issues. I thought originally that some heavy duty wind storms, and possibly the major ice storm we had earlier this year might have...

    Record Plus on 622 unit

This is one if my biggest pet peeves with the DVR though. It should be able to figure this out itself and go ahead and record it at the later time automatically. I shouldn't have to go in and babysit it to tell it to skip the earlier recording so something lower in priority can record...

    OTA Program Guide

I'm surprised that even though they don't offer your local channels on Dish, they haven't at least added EPG info so that you get listings for your OTA stuff. They can certainly do that much for you if they're not going to add your locals.

EKB News Monitor Poll: How do you feel about split market signal importation?

I agree. Our local cable co offers our local channels (Fayetteville/Ft. Smith AR), and also offers an extra ABC channel from Tulsa, OK, and a CBS from Springfield, MO. At the very least, Dish/Direct should be allowed to offer us these channels as well.

    4/29/2009 2:26pm - Uplink Activity Report - 223 changes

Hopefully, if you're lucky. Ours were uplinked but NA in February and they still have not changed to Available. Might happen faster if you already have some other locals in HD though. Good luck to joecap1946, I hope you get them sooner than "soon". :)
