mast question - want to relocate my DTV dish

If you're relocating an AT-9, be prepared for the dither adjustments to be rusted together and unmoveable. Might be worth considering moving to the slimline dish.

No DirecTV service available at new home

Are you positive you can't get Line of Sight, or did some slacker installer just think the job would be a PIA, and blew you off? I would get them to send out another installer to verify no LOS, and I would demand it be a senior tech or supervisor.

    Firmware Update Source?

No, it won't. To force the latest software download, reset, then as soon as a blue screen comes back up, press 0-2-4-6-8 on the remote. Receiver will then go to the software download screen.

    New Slim line at-9

Not to nitpick, but isn't the slimline an AU-9? Anyway, I always kinda thought guys with Dewalts strapped to their ass call it a Ka/Ku, and the guys with a Lazyboy strapped to their ass call it AT-whatever.

What can you do when 3 shows on at the same time???

I installed a fouth DVR into a guy's living room a few weeks ago. I gotta wonder - when he only had three DVR's and could record 6 shows at once - what was the seventh show he needed to record so bad that he had to get another DVR?

D* and the H20 are killing me.

The error messages in setup are normal and should be ignored. The different signal strength reading is normal as well - a low 70's reading on a H20 will give a reading of around 90 on a standard IRD, which you probably have already found on your other receivers. The H20's have been pretty rock...

    My "Installer"

I don't believe DirecTV really cares. I see that exact kind of slop several times a week. The average installer in my area installs for Direct for 4-6 weeks and then moves on to another field (like McDonalds.) Direct is the one calling the shots - They allow the HSP's to pay low wages and...

    Proper Satellite Numbers for AT9

I've installed more than 20 H20's in msp and all but one have not read any signal strength on the 103 - yet all have received locals in HD fine. I've installed about 5 HR20's and all read the 103 fine. I suspect there is a software problem with th H20's reguarding signal strength on the 103.

Did I get the azimuth, etc. right for the AT9???

I have had an increase in level on the 119 on at least half of the Ka/Ku's I've installed (about 20) when adjusting tilt. It may be the truer the plumb of the mast, the less need for tilt adjustment.

103 sat not found in setup

The 99? Would you have a link you could refer me to to look this up? And no, I am not missing any programming. The 99 doesn't ever show up in the signal strength meter, either.

103 sat not found in setup

I've installed about 15 ka/ku dishes with H20 receivers, and only one has show a signal level on the 103 when using the H20's signal strength meter. Yet, every one has the HD locals with out a problem, so I know it's getting the 103 fine. Do other markets see the 103 in the signal strength...
