    Charter Spectrum Speed Increases

I read somewhere that you may have to upgrade your modem to get 100 mbps. My area is supposed to have 100-yet with my old modem I'm still testing at 63-65. Time to pay them a visit tomorrow.

    Upcoming 4K Ultra HD Releases

2 questions. Is disk the only way to watch 4k right now? Will I ever see NFL football on Sundays in 4K? (How far away is network?)

    The Latest AT&T Phone News

Then I guess I'm stuck. Just have to wonder if this will have a negative outcome for Apple. I know I won't be buying a new iphone every 2 years anymore.

    Hard drive recovery?

I had my HD crash about 6 years ago, and at that time, the techs that diagnosed my dead PC, said that it would be EXTREMELY expensive to recover everything on it. And they weren't even sure who could do it. I still have that old hard drive, and I'm curious with technology advancements, wether it...

    The Latest AT&T Phone News

Unless I'm misunderstanding things, I personally won't like this at all. What this means is from now on, I'll have to pay full price $700+ for a new iphone instead of the $200 with contract? I may be changing providers.

    Charter streaming?

I'm currently a Charter sub, but every since they did the digital switchover on my area a few months ago, I've had problems that apparently won't be solved. But that's another story. I'm considering going back to Directv while they're offering many incentives. One being the ability to stream...

    4K FTA HD Receivers?

Better than OTA....THAT I find difficult to believe. If that's the case...there is something wrong with your OTA setup.

Could you live with only a dozen channels?

12? Well lets see. Yep! There was a survey a few years back, claiming subs only watch 17% of the channels they pay for. Probably more like 8-10% in my home.

    H24/100 HELL!

You're not alone. Before I switched to cable about 2 years ago and got a Tivo HD, It was one big nightmare with HR20s and HR21s. My first 8 months, I went through 4 units with what they claimed was hard drive failures.

I heard the Shuttle this morning! And saw it too.

Awesome pics Charlie! Took the family to watch a launch back in '98. It was an early morning launch...just before daylight. We stayed in Cocoa FL. Had to wake the kids up at about 4 AM to get to a designated observation site. Someone had a small portable TV next to us watching the countdown. At...

Udating Sat lists on a CoolSat 5000

Dont mean to hijack, but I'm thinking of getting a CS 5000 or CS 6000. Iceberg or anyone, would you say the 5000 and 6000 are on equal ground as far as blind scan? Thanks.

    Birdview's equal?

Yep. Not only did my Dad's have the hand crank, but it also had no remote on the receiver. Had to actually get up to switch transponders. All done in a foot of snow, uphill, both ways. Ahhh... the good old days.

    Birdview's equal?

I'm thinking you're a little light on that price. My Dad got a cheapo brand in '83(with the hand crank at that)... $2900. As I stated earlier, Birdview owners claimed a $1000+ premium over standard systems.

    Birdview's equal?

They are pricey. The advantage DH has is...they're still making them. However caddata made a good point earlier. As a package price, Birdview has the edge...maybe. Lets assume Birdview was still in business. By today's prices, what would the price be? Who knows...maybe not that far off the DH...
