Well I want to switch to Dish with the full works. Voom and HD-DVR. I was a Voomer till the end and gave TW a try but it has to go! Is there a way to get this without spending a fortune. Do I still have to pay for an extra dish? Thanks for any advice.

Is there any advantage of the newer Lnbs over the legacy? I could easily find an old dish500 lnb and that would allow me to save the $100 Dish is trying to charge. Or should I just bite the bullet and pay? Thanks for the help

Wait so does the Voom LNB work with the Dish 811 or not? Some seem to indicate so as long as you us a sw21 or other switch. What about the polarity issue mentioned by johnalan?

Tell them you already have a dish pointed at 61.5 so you do not need another. They will then say that the Voom dish is not compatible with the 811. Then simply tell them that the Voom LNB is similiar to the old legacy lnb and that it will work with a sw21 switch. See the other post discussing...

Thanks for the info. I guess I will try that. I little bit of arguing is worth 125 bucks. I guess if they insist on the money I can just cancel the service and sign up again for a dollar!
