    Unless you want to be able to order PPV through the remote or view caller ID on the TV, don't worry about the phone line connection. The only recievers that are dependent on the phone line for guide info are the older TiVo models.

    yes, ironwood will provide the data. I was online when I thought about it and figured I would get a response from some fellow techs. I will be working in OH, PA and NY over the next couple of weeks. I was curious if anyone on the forum boards were working in those areas.

    more than likely it is corrosion in the cables. I don't think all the lnbs at the dish could go bad at once. also check the connections make sure the fittings are in good condition and on correctly.

    real quick question ya'll..

    if you want to make sure you have the current updates, you can force a download by hitting 0-2-4-6-8 at the hello screen when you reset the reciever. The download screen will appear and look for any current software available.

    currently d*tv is conrtacting additional manufacturers to catch up to the demand. d*tv estimates that they will still have problems filling orders through this holiday season. I expect the dust to settle around january 2007
