Two years ago I switched from Dish to Comcast. Now I'm back on SAT TV (Directv this time). I notice that the HR34-700 has a "services" setup page, without much info on what those services are. So, first question... What are these services? Second.... Do I need to open firewall ports...

This was an appeal to a three judge appellate panel. Echostar is free to (and probably will) appeal to the full appellate court, and then to the Supremes if necessary. I would assume that a request for a stay of the order would be part of that.

Since this was announced before market open on a monday, I'm assuming Dish thinks the numbers are good, otherwise they would have released it after close on a Friday.

Never got that on a dish box (yet), but I did when the hard disk in the DVR I had from Comcast failed.

Just opining here, but it could be that the appellate court is looking at the Bilski ruling, and based on that might just might overturn the original ruling in full. For those who do not know, Bilski basically stated that software patents do not exist unless the software is tied to a particular...

They were added to the spot beam on Ciel-2 yesterday, but there was no announcment concerning them on the Twitter HDTuesday thing yesterday. If the Roanoke HD Locals go live today, I will be very pleasantly surprised, especially since Lost is on tonight.

10 years ago lightening took out my Direct Receiver and they wanted to charge full retail to replace it. I cancelled the account instead. Two years later they were *still* billing me, even after I was told numerous times that the account would be closed and I wouldn't have to pay anything...

I actually went to the trouble of checking if D* had the Roanoke HD locals today, even though I hate that company worse than Comcast. They don't. Guess I'll stay with dish a while longer.

I'm currently picking up 129 just fine, but have no line-of-sight to 61.5 thanks to terrain/neighbors trees, so I'm hoping that if they have to put them on 61.5, they are mirrored and not moved.
